Arrival / Cairo
Cairo - Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, a representative from Nesobity Travel will greet and assist you. Enjoy some free time in the evening. Overnight stay in Cairo.
Cairo Sightseeing (Giza Pyramids & Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo)
Pyramids of Giza - Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. A Nesobity Travel Egyptologist will meet you and take you on a private tour of Cairo. Begin by visiting the Giza area to see the Giza Pyramids (Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus). The Great Pyramid is famously one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Nearby, marvel at the Sphinx and the Dream Stela. The Sphinx, a magnificent statue carved from a hill, combines the power, majesty, and mystery of a lion’s body with a human head, historically guarding Egypt’s northwestern gateway.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Next, travel to The Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of rare and unique antiquities. The museum features various floors and sections, including a remarkable section dedicated to the young King Tutankhamun, showcasing his royal throne chair. The Mummies Court is a major attraction, along with a collection of ancient jewelry made of pure gold, statues, and portraits from different ancient dynasties. Then, proceed to Old Cairo.
Coptic Cairo - Visit the religious complex, which includes the Hanging Church, Abi Serga Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, and Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque. After a wonderful day tour, return to the hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Transfer to Aswan & Aswan Sightseeing
Aswan High Dam - Enjoy breakfast on board, then transfer to Cairo Airport for a morning flight to Aswan. Embark on a day tour of this charming and beautiful city, known as the land of Nubia. Its monuments reflect the Greek-Roman era, as the Greeks and Romans were influenced by ancient Egyptian culture, religion, and architecture, merging it with their heritage when rebuilding ruined temples. The Ptolemaic period began in 332 B.C. with Alexander the Great’s invasion of Egypt, liberating it from the Persians and establishing his empire. En route to Aswan sightseeing, view the oldest dam in Egypt, the Low Aswan Dam, built in 1898. The first tour stop is the High Dam, one of the world’s largest dams, constructed in 1960. Enjoy views of the reservoir “Lake Nasser,” the Friendship Monument, and power plants.
Temple of Philae - Next, take a water trip to Philae Island, located in the middle of the Nile and dedicated to the goddess Isis. Visit a complex of Greek-Roman chapels and the Philae Temple. The entire complex was relocated from its original site on Philae Island to Egilika Island to save it from submersion when the dams were built.
Unfinished Obelisk - Visit the ancient quarry where the Unfinished Obelisk lies. This site demonstrates how ancient Egyptians cut numerous obelisks for their temples. Return to the cruise. Overnight in Aswan.
Sailing to Kom Ombo
Temple of Kom Ombo - Enjoy breakfast onboard and leisure time in the morning. Have lunch on board while sailing to Kom Ombo town. Enjoy English tea time on the sundeck, followed by a tour of Kom Ombo Temple and the Crocodile Museum. The Temple of Kom Ombo is uniquely designed and located just steps from the east bank of the Nile River. It is equally divided between Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Two long access paths lead to two interior sanctuaries. Return to the cruise and sail to Edfu. Overnight in Edfu.
Sailing from Edfu to Luxor
Temple of Horus - The guide will accompany you to visit one of Egypt’s best-preserved Greek-Roman achievements, the Edfu Temple, dedicated to the cult of Horus (Falcon God, 237 B.C.). Observe the second tallest pylon (temple facade) in Egypt and the inscriptions of the legendary struggle between Horus and his uncle Seth, the god of evil. Return to the cruise and sail to Esna, where you will cross two locks on the Nile and witness the elevation process from the sundeck.
Luxor Temple - Upon arrival in Luxor, the guide will take you to visit Luxor Temple, which bears evidence of many civilizations and religions practiced within its walls for thousands of years, including Pharaonic, Coptic, and Islamic. Built by Amenhotep III in the 18th Dynasty around 1300 B.C., it illustrates his divine birth on the walls of the divine birth room inside the temple. Ramses II and Tutankhamun also contributed to the temple’s completion, as Luxor was Egypt’s capital during the New Kingdom era. Return to the cruise. Overnight in Luxor.
Luxor Over Day and Transfer to Hurghada
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast on board, check out from the cruise to explore the golden era of one of ancient Egypt’s capitals. The guide will accompany you to the west bank, starting with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, which contains 63 royal tombs from the New Kingdom era, around 1500 B.C. The west bank was chosen for burials due to its dry environment, suitable limestone quarries, and to keep tombs and royal mummies hidden from robbers. The tomb walls feature incredible carvings and inscriptions depicting the Pharaohs’ religious life.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Proceed to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a unique architectural marvel with inscriptions of the royal journey to Puntland and visions of Queen Hatshepsut’s divine birth. The limestone mortuary temple was designed and constructed by the high priest and architect Senenmut in 1503 B.C.
Colossi of Memnon - Listen to the legendary story of the Colossi of Memnon in a granary area.
Temple of Karnak - Finally, visit the Karnak Temple complex, one of the largest temples in the world. Here, you can visit the Sacred Lake and the huge Scarab Statue, which is said to bring good luck if you walk around it a few times. Karnak Temples were dedicated to the Theban triad of God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu.
