The GEM Museum Cairo - I was fortunate to tour the GEM Museum with a wonderful guide Reham and driver Mustaff. Reham was an excellent guide. She was very friendly and had excellent knowledge of the museum. She took many beautiful pictures that will be treasured memories. Such an amazing complex that Egypt can be very proud of. Mustaff manoeuvred through the Cairo traffic extremely well. Thank you Reham and Mustaff. You made this memorable experience a complete pleasure.

Fascinating tour of ancient Egyptian artifacts and symbolism - My guide's name was Hany and he was excellent! He picked me up via taxi from from my hotel and when we got to the museum he first explained the exterior design. Then we went in and Hany started with the earliest history and we worked our way to the later history and Tutankhamun. His knowledge was vast and he was really friendly. He was happy to answer my relentless questions so hats off for that! I learned a lot, mainly the crucial role that symbolism played in ancient Egypt. After the museum we went to a papyrus shop where I saw how the papyrus plant gets turned into durable scrolls and was given the chance to buy anything that might catch my eye, but I decided not to. Then Hany dropped me back off at the hotel. All in all: very enlightening, lots to take photos of and a good day out.

Iconic Museum. - I was staying in a hotel near Tahrir Square and could walk to the iconic Egyptian Museum and spend almost half a day. The museum contains a rare and unique collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts, relics, treasures from great Pyramids, jewellery, mummies, historical items and classical symbols. There is admission ticket. Signages are excellent and informative. There is also a shop at exit point selling authentic souvenirs, books, mementos and many items to cherish the memories of the great and ancient Egyptian civilization. It's better to visit early in the morning to avoid crowds.

Egyptian Museum Tour - My tour guide was Hany. He picked me up at my hotel, Le Meriden, & we went to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. He arrived a few minutes before 9 & he was very informative on the way to the museum. Once we got the there the pricing for the ticket wasn’t bad for what you got. My friends weren’t able to join me that day so it was nice to have such an energetic & enthusiastic tour guide. After the museum we had lunch & went to the shops. Overall it was great experience I would I highly recommend it.

You should go to learn abt it - It was an amazing place to visit that has lot to explore and learn about the ancient egypt civilisation. Unfortunately my 6 yrs old daughter was so pist of and tired of the tour. Since it doesn't very appeal to her. But it's a must see location. I might recommend to well maintain the place and cleaniness is a great thing to keep since the place is an image of the country

See some of the most famous treasures of ancient Egypt - Impressive collection of old antique artifacs. Mumies and Gold objects from ancient Egypt. I would have liked more descriptions in english, it was less than 50%, although the most important things does have english descriptions. Go early to avoid crowds. The Gold treasure of Tuth Ank Amon is on the first floor in a room by itself and includes the mask, casket and jewels. The casket is made with 110 kilo of gold! They have a good museum shop too.

Skip it until the new one is open at Giza - Skip it.. unless you like poor lighting and no curating . Three are moving all to a new museum at Giza but that is still no excuse. A guide is a MUST to get any appreciation of their antiquities

Outdated - If I judge the value of the exhibits, it would be a 5 stars museum. You could easily spend a whole day here.Unfortunately, the museum would need massive restoration. The walls should be painted, there isn't an air-conditioned system so you feel like in sauna, the showcases are old, with the wooden frame, the WC is outside and it loooks awful. Extremely crowded. If you want to take pictures you have to pay an extra fee,50 egyptian pounds, for the mummies room, also is an extra fee(take care, you can't pay in other currency, none of the entry fee or other tax).
