Highlights
  • Parco Archeologico - Halfway between the current Palermo and Trapani stands one of the oldest cities you can visit in Sicily. The first monument to visit is the Doric temple, one of the best preserved Greek temples in the western world. The Doric temple of Segesta stands outside the city walls, on a hill west of the city.
The ancient theater of Segesta, built on the north side of the acropolis, stands on the highest peak of Monte Barbaro, close to the gulf of Castellammare.
The theater has a very wide panoramic view that transforms into a spectacular scenography if necessary. It is one of the most successful examples of theatrical architecture that can be placed in the passage and is still used, during the summer, for performances and concerts.
The theater can be reached by climbing the Mount on foot or by bus (consider taking the shuttle bus if it’s a hot summer day and/or if you’re not used to hiking).

Great full day excursion - This was a full day excursion. Our driver Mimmo was excellent and provided a great experience. We had plenty of time at each stop to see and enjoy the sites. Unfortunately when we got into Trapani it was siesta time and it was a little quiet. The stop to try the Cannoli was good with Mimmo arranging coffee and the beautiful “huge” cannoli to eat at no cost to us. Highly recommended this day trip. We were a group of 7 and this allowed it to be private. The van was clean and comfortable. Thanks Mimmo.

It turned out to be a great day. - Peter was a great driver who knew about Malta's and Gozo history. He was patient and considerate of the needs of his passengers. Highly recommend him as a driver. May need to have more communication prior to leaving Malta regarding waiting place for boat.

Wonderful experience! - We had a wonderful tour guide/driver for our day trip. He was a very careful and thoughtful driver. We felt safe in his hands and he had great communication skills giving us insightful information and tips. He encouraged us to ask questions not only about the places we were visiting but anything about Sicily and Italy. He was a wealth of knowledge! The places we visited were all different and interesting.

GREAT TRIP! But be... - GREAT TRIP! But be forewarned this is not a TOUR as stated the driver is not a guide and drops you off. However, our Driver Marcello was EXCELLENT, he was very polite, friendly and provided a lot of information during our ride! Not to mention the Cannoli were exceptional and the best we had in all of italy!! Ask for Marcello and if your lucky enough to get him you are surely in for a wonderful time!

Great tour! Great guide! - A wonderful day with our guide and driver Marcello! The tour was engaging and we had ample time to enjoy each stop. Marcello was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was well planned! We were 3 couples in our late 60's and early 70's. An awesome experience!

Marvels of Sicily - My sister liked the salt museum the best and I fell in love with Erice. But the sight of the Segesto Temple will stay with me forever. We truly thought the entire day was wonderful with our gracious and always cheerful driver Mimmo.

The tour was good, but.... - The trip was very good. We enjoyed all the stops on this tour. Although, our driver told us the Salt Museum near Trapani was closed, which was not true. Our driver the next day had taken people to the Salt Museum near Trapani and it was open. We were disappointed that our driver had not been honest with us.

Good experience outside of Palermo - Temple and Theater at Segesta were very nice. The town of Erice was unique and fun to walk around in. Unfortunately, the two main sites there were closed. Trapani was okay. Not much to see. We skipped the salt flats as we’d seen some before. Driver was very cordial and helpful.

No tour guide be aware - Wonderful driver, nonetheless with limited English. No tour guide, there was a note about no tour guide included when I went back to the booking, which falls back to me but the advertisement looks as though a guide is included and so our day out was looking at mountain side and not getting any info on the area..
