Known as “Lake of the Spirits” by the indigenous Stoney Nakoda First Nations, it offers easy walking trails and boating opportunities. In winter, it transforms into a stunning ice skating rink, often featuring intriguing ice bubbles created by trapped methane gas.
• Moraine Lake - (June 1 - Oct 14 only) Next, visit the equally stunning Moraine Lake. Spend an hour exploring this glacially-fed lake, famous for its vibrant blue color and the surrounding Valley of the Ten Peaks. A short hike up the Rockpile Trail provides panoramic views and excellent photo opportunities. (Visit Moraine Lake from June 1 to October 14.
