- Marble Canyon - Explore the seven bridges of Marble Canyon during winter, where you can hike in a zigzag pattern across the deep limestone canyon and the winding creek below. This canyon marks the meeting point of Tocum Creek and Suzaku River. It’s a site of historical significance, with fossils of Cambrian soft-bodied creatures discovered here, offering a magnificent glimpse into the past. A narrow path over the creek provides a view of the canyon below, with a frozen waterfall cascading from above on the right. The breathtaking landscape and refreshing pools are truly impressive.
- Lake Louise - In winter, continue the journey to discover another enchanting secret of the Rocky Mountains: the snow-white Lake Louise, set against the backdrop of the Victoria Glacier. From January to April each year (according to official opening hours), the grand Ice Magic event takes place here. Artists and ice sculpture enthusiasts from around the world gather to create a stunning fairy tale world.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (additional cost for the optional Afternoon Tea) located by the lakeside resembles a painting, with snow-capped mountains and glacial lakes beautifully complementing each other. Enjoy snowshoeing (free rental available), an activity dependent on weather and lake freezing conditions, to step into the soft snow and experience an ice and snow adventure.
- Spiral Tunnels - Make a brief stop at Spiral Tunnels to catch a glimpse of Canada’s history. This spiraling tunnel is part of the Canadian Pacific Railway, one of the steepest and most scenic railway lines in North America. It crosses the Kicking Horse River and runs under Mount Ogden and Cathedral Mountain towards the town of Field in British Columbia.
- Emerald Lake - Emerald Lake is one of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park. This stunning emerald-colored lake owes its hue to the light refracting off the rock flour deposits in the water. Surrounded by the President Range, it forms a natural amphitheater with towering forested banks. With a keen eye, you might spot fascinating wildlife such as marmots, bald eagles, bears, loons, and the occasional moose!
- Natural Bridge - Pause at the Natural Bridge along the way to admire the Kicking Horse River as it carves through ancient rock. You can view this incredible natural formation from various vantage points with interpretive displays that share interesting facts about the Natural Bridge. The beautiful scenery is further enhanced by the scenic mountains and lush forests in the background.
