Cristo Rey - At the moment this place is closed, but we will visit a nearby viewpoint where we will have an incredible panoramic view.
We will begin our journey by venturing to the Cristo Rey. On our way up to the statue we will talk about the important facts of the city and the history of Cristo Rey. Once we get here we will have a panoramic view of the city and the western mountain chain, we will take advantage of this view to talk about the most important sites and sport venues. We will then have some time for pictures before heading down to Sebastian de Belalcazar. At the moment this place is closed, but we will visit a nearby viewpoint where we will have an incredible panoramic view. - Mirador Sebastian Belalcazar - We will stop at the Sebastian de Belalcazar monument to talk about his history and legacy and have another viewpoint of the city.
- Gato de Tejada - Here in the cats of the river we will have a chance to explore an important symbol of what makes us caleños. The cats of the river are an important symbol fort the contemporary history of the city. We will talk about the main cat and some of his girlfriends, the most important ones and have a wonderful opportunity to talk about the context which surrounds them.
- Plazoleta Jairo Varela - We will arrive at the Jairo Varela Plaza where we will continue our journey on foot. We will then explore the history of Salsa in Cali, who was Jairo Varela was and why he was so important for Cali. After a brief stop to dance under the trumpets (only musical monument in Colombia) we will head on to the historic center.
- Iglesia La Ermita - We will enter the historic center where we will be immersed in a unique world of architecture and history. Here we will gaze at the most important sites of the center, such as la Ermita church, the Jorge Isaacs theatre and the Coltabaco building. Then, we will proceed to have a pleasant walk through the Boulevard of the River.
We will arrive to the Merced church to appropriately finish off in the oldest building of cali, which also happens to be the place where the city was founded. Our journey will finish in the colonial neighborhood of San Antonio.
