• Battambang Province - The tour begins in the morning at 9:00 am. The operator can pick guests up from their hotel. After a brief introduction, the tour will explore the city, visiting French colonial buildings, Wat Dom Rey Sor, Lok Ta Dombong Kranhung, and the local market, among other sites.
• Wat Samrong Knong - This site features an ancient Buddhist temple built over 300 years ago, which was used as a prison during the Pol Pot regime. The operator will provide insights into the Pol Pot regime and religion. Visitors can also see The Well of Shadows (killing field), where skulls and bones of victims are displayed. Thousands were killed here. The tour will then spend a few hours observing the daily life of locals in a small village, including making bamboo sticky rice, which guests can sample. The tour continues along a village road to see how locals make rice paper for spring rolls, which can also be tasted. The tour then visits the fish paste market (Cambodian cheese) for a short walk and concludes with a visit to see and taste dried bananas.
• Bamboo Train Battambang - The tour proceeds to the bamboo train, passing through small villages, fruit farms, a local pagoda, and a suspension bridge to reach the original bamboo train station. Riding the bamboo train costs $5 per person, offering views of small villages and the countryside.
• Battambang Bat Caves - At Phnom Sampov mountain, visitors can hike or take a motorbike to see the killing cave, a large cannon, a gun, a monastery, and a stupa. The view from the top is one of Battambang’s most stunning. After visiting the killing caves, guests wait 5-10 minutes to witness millions of bats emerging from their cave. The operator will share the history of Pol Pot, the killing caves, and the mountain. After the bat cave visit, guests will be dropped off at their hotel.
