Highlights
  • Phnom Kulen National Park - Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at between 7:30 am to 8:00 am and take you to purchase a Phnom Kulen ticket and then we head to Phnom Kulen National Park for approximately 1 hour. This journey takes you through rural Cambodian villages, where you may observe locals going about their everyday lives and admire beautiful landscapes such as rice paddies and traditional dwellings. Stop off at the Palm Sugar Village and witness how Cambodian people make their own sugar to supply their families and villages.

Afterward, we continue to the hilltop of Phnom Kulen, and our tour guide will take you to the most spectacular tourist attractions in the national park, including the largest and most beautiful waterfalls, the reclining Buddha sculpture, and the River of Thousand Linga. After all the crawling, stop for a picnic at a nearby waterfall, where you can enjoy grilled chicken with seasonal fruits and swimming at the waterfalls.

  • Beng Mealea - In the afternoon, we will have lunch at the local restaurant before heading to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area.
  • Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Continue to Tonle Sap lake, known for its picturesque floating villages. We enjoy a boat ride and observe the local life in the villages with their floating farms, schools, markets, and Buddhist temples.

Note: Tonle Sap Lake and Floating Village are best visited from July to February.

Additional Information

Embark on a comprehensive day-long expedition to Kulen Mountain, Beng Mealea, and Tonle Sap lake showcasing gorgeous waterfalls, an enormous reclining Buddha statue, a river with a thousand Lingas, a jungle temple, and a boat journey to a floating village on the biggest lake in Southeast Asia. Experience this private tour that encompasses natural splendors, historic temples, and traditional stilt-house villages…a multitude of diverse and incredible sights and experiences packed into a single day, facilitated by an excellent tour guide.

  • The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

  • What should to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, sun hat.

Absolute must in Siem Reap - Fantastic excursion! If you are currently interested in the real life of Cambodian people, want to enjoy breathtaking views, want to feel like Indiana Jones exploring abandoned temples, want to track down secret springs, swim in waterfalls and then enjoy delicious local delicacies, this is the place for you. If you have a guide like Jan who also has the necessary background knowledge, nothing can go wrong. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Excursion and Guide - M. Sotin is a fantastic Guide who has told us many things about the local culture and the country in very correct English. He also bought us a delicious traditional cake. We visited Kulen Mountain, a floating village on the lake and a temple and it was very interesting. Really recommended.

Fewer crowds than Angkor Wat - brilliant! - Great day start to finish! It was well organised and Mr David was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited and knew the best spots for photos too! We started by visiting a place where they make Cambodian version of cupcakes and dumplings and even got to try both as well as making the dumplings too! After that, we headed to the cliff part way up the mountain for amazing views and photos. Then we stopped at the One Thousand Linga and the sleeping Buddha statue. We had lunch down by Kulen Waterfall which was amazing and it was rice and chicken prepared by a local kitchen as well as seasonal fruit. Both of these were so good! After a stop for a dip in the waterfall we then headed to Beng Mealea which is a temple that’s had no restoration and was fascinating to learn about. Our final stop was Kampong Phluk, the floating village and a trip out onto Tonle Sap lake. This time of year the water levels are still relatively low in comparison to what they’ll become so it’s mind blowing to see the houses and comprehend how high it’ll get. We were offered cold bottled water after each stop and a refreshing towel/cloth multiple times throughout the day. Well looked after and well-worth the experience. Would absolutely recommend!

Visita spettacolare - Our guide Raman was exceptional. He explained very well the places visited with him by placing them in the context of the past and contemporary history of Cambodia making it all very interesting and moving. Furthermore, the various attentions to make our day pleasant were very nice, such as the excellent lunch purchased from locals supporting the population of the area. Spectacular places. A trip that I would do 10 more times if I could! Highly recommended

Immerse yourself in Cambodia - The trip was top notch! The guide Mr.Ramen was SOOO knowledgeable when it comes to Cambodia. History, culture, anything you want to know, he can tell you! He could talk for hours! 👏 The driver Mr. T was super friendly and made sure we always stay hydrated! 🤍 As for the tour, it you're wondering whether you should do it or not, take this as a sign TO DO IT! We visited in August so it was dry season and we could actually walk around a neighbourhood in the village and it was gorgeous! The whole tour is so enriching and educational that it is worth the money and time. The hospitality of everyone was spot on! Highly recommended🙏🏼❤️
