- Sambor Prei Kuk - Explore the archaeological site of Sambor Prei Kuk, known as Ishanapura, the capital of the Chenla Empire that thrived in the late 6th and early 7th centuries AD. The site features over a hundred temples, including ten octagonal ones, which are a unique architectural feature in South-East Asia. The site is adorned with sandstone elements that exemplify the pre-Angkor decorative style, referred to as the Sambor Prei Kuk Style. Some of these elements, such as lintels, pediments, and colonnades, are considered true masterpieces. The art and architecture developed here served as models for other regions and laid the foundation for the distinctive Khmer style of the Angkor period.
- Spean Praptos - On the way back to Siem Reap, take a moment to visit Spean Kampong Kdei (Kampong Kdei bridge), constructed in the late 12th or early 13th century during the Bayon period. This bridge, measuring 86 meters in length and 16 meters in width, rises 10 meters above the river.

Explore the pre-Angkorian temples of Sambor Prei Kuk under the expert guidance of a professional archaeologist. Nestled in the tranquil and serene forest, these temples offer a stunning attraction, far removed from the bustling tourist spots.
These primarily octagonal temples were constructed from bricks at the site of ancient Ishanapura, the capital of the Chenla Empire, which thrived across much of Southeast Asia during the late 6th and early 7th centuries AD. Inscriptions in Sanskrit and ancient Khmer on some temples indicate that the centralized state was governed by a “God-King.”
Sambor Prei Kuk is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
