Additional Information

Our guides, Cambridge alumni or students, blend personal experiences with a passion for the city’s history and architecture. Our 90-minute tour covers highlights like the Corpus Clock, the Eagle Pub, the Old Cavendish Laboratory, Queens’ College and the Mathematical Bridge, King’s College from the Backs, Trinity College, Trinity Hall and St. John’s College, Gonville and Caius, the Senate House.

Take a fascinating walk through Cambridge, where history comes alive. Be inspired by the colleges of Alan Turing, Lord Byron, Isaac Newton, and Stephen Hawking while admiring stunning Gothic and Baroque architecture. Marvel at a thousand-year-old Anglo-Saxon church tower and a contemporary (and controversial) clock that doesn’t even tell the time properly. Cambridge is a city full of inspiring, baffling, and downright outrageous stories waiting to be told.

  • The tour includes a 1.5-hour walk at a moderate pace, requiring basic fitness for light activity. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes and dress appropriately for potentially bad weather and muddy terrain
  • Wheelchair users are welcome. Be cautious of uneven surfaces, curbs, and potential trip hazards. Be aware of vehicles and bicycles, particularly in busy areas
  • Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, especially in warm weather. - Follow the tour guide’s instructions and adhere to safety warnings. Inform the tour guide immediately if you feel unwell or notice any safety concerns
  • Follow local health and safety regulations, including COVID-19 guidelines

INformative Cambridge walking tour with punting - We took a walking tour of Cambridge without Kings College. Our guide was Stephen, who is very bright and witty. He taught us a great deal about the town and the university in 90 minutes. We included a punting trip, from which we learned even more.

Great explanation by and then still quiet Cambridge - We just took the walk with an Alumni around the colleges of Cambridge. We were the only two so actually got a private tour. Oh, great. Eveline told very knowledgeable and with enthusiasm. She's obviously proud of her university. It was very educational and very fun to do. Definitely recommended.

Good experience - Gabriel was excellent. The tour felt very hollistic as we got to see many of the landmarks in Cambridge. Gabriel spoke about the history of a lot of these places and it was good to experience these sites with someone who has been in Cambridge for a long time.
