Highlights
  • Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre - Your sunset sailing cruise departs from Bayview Landing, at the heart of Camden Harbor. Mariners consider Camden Harbor one of the most beautiful harbors in New England, framed by the mountains greeting the sea. Feel the sense of adventure as the crew hoists the sails. Participate in this age-old tradition by joining in and help raise the sails. Take a turn at the wheel and feel the exhilaration of captaining a traditional wooden ship.

  • Schooner Appledore II Windjammer Cruise - The Appledore II was hand-built in 1978 at the Gamage Shipyard in Maine in the finest shipbuilding tradition. She proved her seaworthiness by circumnavigating the globe. She continues to sail a 2,000 mile ocean voyage twice a year between her summer home of Camden, Maine and winter home of tropical Key West, Florida.

  • Curtis Island Light - Your Downeast Maine boat tour takes you past Curtis Island Light, helping navigate seafarers since 1836, and into Penobscot Bay. As we sail along the rugged coastline, take in the majestic mountains, only one of two places along the Atlantic seaboard where the mountains drop off into the ocean. With the painted sky as your exquisite backdrop, gaze at the magnificent mansions, historic inns and elegant yachts. Watch for porpoises, eagles and ospreys. Along the jagged rocks, look for seals and shorebirds, including guillernots, cousins to puffins.

  • Mount Battie - Quench your thirst with cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks, all available for purchase during your sailing cruise.

Gather close to your loved ones as the fiery sun sets over Mount Battie and toast the end of an amazing day. Against the darkened sky, the blink of the Curtis Island Light guides us back home to Camden Harbor.

Wonderful Experience a true highlight of our trip - WONDERFUL Experience! My partner and I set sail after dinner on the Sunset Cruise, unfortunately due to clouds we missed the sunset but we were just grateful we were able to go out as the weather was dicey all day long. Pablo (our captain), along with Zach, and Eli made for such a great and memorable trip. Pablo spoke of interesting facts and tidbits of the homes and the islands we passed., and also a juicy story about a scandal that rocked Camden all due to Pine Trees! We spoke to Eli as he filled us in on his life and how he came to work on the Schooner Appledore II, he's such a great guy and we had a blast talking to him. Drinks were very good and made fresh to order. I got the Dark and Stormy rum cocktail and they even gave you a metal souvenir cup to take it home in. We couldn't believe how quickly the 2 hours came and went. A really wonderful experience and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful evening trip.

Wonderful Evening Sail on the Appledore II - My grandson and I were on a trip to Maine, and we booked this experience. We drove to Camden and found parking right at the wharf. By the way, you don't have to pay for parking after 6pm, and we were on the 6:30 sailing. Captain Pablo was lots of fun, and he gave us the history of the ship. It is a beautiful 84' schooner. We left right on time, and the crew (Zach & Andy) were extremely efficient with serving beverages and getting us out to sea. The crew asked for assistance in raising the sails which several young gentlemen volunteered to do. We had a beautiful evening. It was fun listening to Capt Pablo "spill the tea" on the wealthy residents who have gigantic mansions on Penobscot Bay. We had an absolutely gorgeous sunset. So fun!

Terrific Sunset Cruise on the Appledore II - What a fun experience! We sailed on the Appledore II schooner with Captain Pablo on the sunset cruise. The weather was perfect, and we had a fun group of people. The crew (Zach and Andy) were friendly, capable, and very efficient. They were able to serve drinks and get us off sailing right on time. There used to be a public parking lot right at the wharf. There is no parking fee after 6 pm which was nice. We definitely feel like it was worth the money to experience a sail on this 84’ schooner.

Must do with this captain and crew! - Captain Katie and her crew were awesome! A great sense of humor, excellent service, and it’s obvious that captain and crew love what they do. We came for our anniversary, but there were families on the tour as well.

Sunset sail - Fun trip and very interesting. I wish the crew would have talked more about the boat and about the surrounding areas that we sailed past so we could have learned about the area some.

A beautiful trip. - A great, relaxing trip. I highly recommend it. The only addition I recommend that they make is to provide just some minutes of instruction on the history and geography of our trip. A ten-minute account of what we’re seeing and experiencing, out of a two-hour excursion, isn’t too much to ask.

We had smooth ride, nice people, heard not much from crew! - We got on board and took the cruise expecting to hear some info about where we were going for two hours. Heard nothing and saw some nice things, but it was pretty boring.
