The excursions commence from our Riad, located in the heart of the village. This journey begins in Merzouga. After breakfast, the exploration of the desert region and the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes begins. The drive includes visits to small villages around the Erg Chebbi dunes, such as Hassi Labied, Merdani, Khamlia, and M’fis. On the way to Kamlia, there is an opportunity to meet locals showcasing their desert foxes. Desert reptiles and mammals may also be encountered. In Khamlia, known as the village of black people who were once slaves from Sudan, guests are warmly welcomed with a cup of tea (Whiskey Berber) while enjoying the spiritual Gnawa music. Departing Khamlia, the next stop offers a panoramic view of the golden dunes near the Algerian border. A picnic lunch under the shade of a tree may be enjoyed before visiting a Nomad family living under a Berber tent, caring for cattle, goats, and camels. Guests are introduced to the family members and learn about their lifestyle while savoring a delightful cup of tea.

1 Night Merzouga Camel Trek Program
1st Day Afternoon: The camel trekking and overnight adventure begins every evening at 4 pm from a guest house in Merzouga town. Your camel and guide will be ready and waiting for you. Enjoy a 1 hour and 30-minute camel ride through the stunning Erg Chebbi golden sand dunes. This is a chance to experience the journey of caravan traders or nomads from years past. Before reaching the Desert Sahara Camp, there will be a stop to walk on the sand and climb a high dune to witness one of the world’s most breathtaking sunsets. Upon arrival at the Desert camp, you will be warmly welcomed with Moroccan mint tea. The camp is well-equipped with beds, mattresses, blankets, traditional Berber food, and all necessities for the night. After a delicious Moroccan Tagine dinner, gather around the campfire to enjoy traditional Berber music performed by local guides, with an opportunity to join in. Later, take a romantic walk on the sand dunes.
