Excellent Wildlife and Rapids Adventure - Had an excellent tour with Rueben. Booked a private tour and was great to get picked up at Cortes. We were blown away by the tidal rapids, surrounded by sea lions and eagles hunting for fish. We hadn't seen much whale action until our way back when we came across a humpback breaching over and over again. Rueben stayed out past our time so we could enjoy it which we really appreciated.

Great adventure, great experience, great guide - We were visiting Quadra Island for a few weeks and signed up twice for the 4-hour tour. The first was with the family and the second was with friends. I’d definitely recommend their 4-hour tour. We saw humpbacks and orcas on both days, but each tour was a little different based on the wildlife. We also saw seals, an island filled with different sea birds, and dolphins. Reuben grew up in these waters, knows the waters and wildlife in and out, and his love of this part of this world is evident. Thanks for making our last day in BC a day to remember. It didn’t hurt that the humpbacks were jumping today.

Gorgeous day off Quadra Island - Beautiful day on the water. We left the marina from Quadra Island which was very convenient. We saw many humpback whales and even had 3 whales swim close to our boat- we started in the distance but the whales approached us. Beautiful eagles, salmon jumping and gorgeous scenery. We stopped on Cortes Island for a bathroom break, delicious lemonade and homemade cookies. The boat is very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Whale of a time! - I have been out so many times with the team at Wild Waterways with family and friends. We are never disappointed by the beauty and extraordinary nature of the north of Vancouver Island. Whales, dolphins, bears, sea lions, bird life, tidal experiences....it's so magical! Thanks again for another wonderful day!

Fantastic - Rupert was our guide. He was very kind and knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife, including dolphins, eagles, sea lions and orcas. It was a wonderful trip. Definitely dress warm with layers. Even with the flotation suits we were quite chilly. Rupert made us hot chocolate and coffee and provided a snack. We got a bathroom break on Stuart Island. Highly recommend.

Breathtaking views, majestic animals, exciting and fun boat trip! - I've seen plenty of migrating whales along the California coast before, but seeing them up close doing what whales do was a whole new experience for me. The setting between Quadra and Cortes islands is absolutely breathtaking, and then seeing the whales spouting and diving with that backdrop was incredible. In addition to the whales, we saw sea lions and Biggs orcas (my first time seeing orcas!). Captain Jen is an outstanding guide. She is intimately acquainted with the weather, tides, her boat, and the individual animals families too, easily recognizing them by their tail flukes. Originally our group was going on another adventure, but weather conditions made us turn back (always trust the captain!) and she gave us the option for this itinerary instead which turned out to be fantastic, definitely a highlight of my time in Canada. The boat is a very comfortable Zodiac, and every guest wears a full survival suit, which are warm and cozy and waterproof, which is very welcome as it can be windy and wet out of the water. A delicious homemade lunch of sandwiches, hot beverages, and cookies was also served during a break at Cortes Island. And even just sitting there eating lunch we saw jellyfish and birds. Jen is passionate about her work, and has extensive knowledge on the ecosystem, and an enormous amount of respect for the animals. If you're considering a wildlife excursion that is highly professional, ethical, but also exciting, personable and fun for people of all ages, you won't regret going with Wild Waterways. I know I'll be going out again next time I am in the area!
