A fabulous wildlife tour. - What a fabulous tour......from start to finish it was amazing. We saw so much wildlife.....humpback whales, orcas, eagles, seals, and of course grizzly bears......5 of them.....and the important thing was that they were in their own habitat. Although the bears were really close at times we felt totally safe with our guide Stewert. Captain John and Zoe were great on the boat too. We had a delicious lunch and snacks too. The tour totally fulfilled all our dreams and expectations....I can't recommend it enough. Thank you.

A Day We Will Never Forget! - We did the full day tour to Bute, & had a truly wonderful time. It was a cool & cloudy day, & we did get a bit chilly on the upper deck for the outward journey (even though thought we had layered up sufficiently & were given a cosy blanket to snuggle under) But that was our choice - we could have gone inside, & as the boat stopped every time any wildlife was spotted so anyone who was inside keeping warm could easily come outside for a better view (as we did on our return journey) The Captain & his 1st Mate were very friendly & knowledgeable, as were the Homalco guides once we reached the mainland viewing areas. We were fortunate to see dolphins, porpoises, sea lions, a humpback & 4 orca from the boat - but, of course, the highlight was the bear viewing. We were able to observe one young male catching & eating salmon for what seem like ages - at one point so close that we could hear him crunching the bones! A real heart stopping experience that we will never forget! We also saw a mother & her 2 cubs, plus another solo male, for shorter periods of time & at greater distances, as well as a herd of Elk, 2 Bald eagles (an adult & a juvenile) a merganser duck, & a pair of Turkey Vultures. Lunch (served at the picnic tables on the Orford River dock) was so plentiful that we didn't have time to eat it all before getting onto our minibus, but we were told we could leave it on the boat for the return journey. The information we received in advance of the trip was to only bring water, no other food & drink allowed. Turned out that the only part of the day this rule really applied to was once we got on the minibuses & at the viewing points. If we'd know this, we would have brought something other than water to drink. But that aside, this trip was definitely one of our Top 5 Highlights in a 3 week trip that was packed full of amazing experiences!

The highlight of our Canada holiday - The highlight of our Canada holiday. Alex & Zoe on the boat and Stewert & James on the bear bus all did a great job of finding wildlife and making it a day to remember. On the bear tour, we saw 8 grizzlies, some of them fishing for salmon just a few metres away. Stewert provided lots of information about the animals and the local culture (plus a few old jokes to keep everyone smiling). On the outward boat journey the wildlife spotted included a humpback. And so much more on the return. Despite it getting late in the day, Alex continued to stop whenever there was a chance to see more. Sealions salmon fishing in the whirlpools, bald eagles, seals, dolphins and orcas. Highly recommended

Amazing Day Out - Wonderful day out and amazing to see Grizzly bears so close to us catch salmon in the river then eat them in full view. There was quite a long boat trip out to Bute inlet but the scenery was great and we saw whales on the way back. We had a good lunch when we landed with a fantastic view and then headed out in small buses with guides from Homalco first nation after a safety briefing, toilet break and a small exhibition, to various viewing points. There was plenty of time to look for bears so if you don’t see them in one spot you move on to another and we were not rushed on in any way. The captain of the boat kept us entertained with stories and the wildlife expert was knowledgable. It was good to have warm clothing with us as it did get a bit chilly up on the top deck. Definitely worth booking this trip, a once in a life time experience.

An amazing experience! - Everything about this day was perfect. The weather held out (did not start raining until we were almost back to the dock), we saw lot's of wildlife and went through some of the intense rapids that our area is known for. Captain John was such a pro - very personable and knowledgeable of our waters. Quinn the field naturalist was fantastic and his excitement for the creatures we were seeing passed on to all the guests. I live in Campbell River, and have been on several eco tours with CR Whale Watching and I am never disappointed. The pile of Sea Lions on the rocks and their... noises are wild. I could watch those giant beasts all day (maybe with ear plugs). Their partnership with Wilderness International is the icing on the cake, Campbell River Whale Watching is walking the walk for be sustainable and carbon neutral.

All day Grizzly tour to Bute Inlet Orford Bay - September 23 we went to Bute for the day with Campbell River Whale watching and adventure tours. Had a great day and saw about 6-7 Grizzlies on the Orford river having stopped at 2 viewing platforms. On the way up we saw Sea Lions, Hump back and 2 kinds of porpoises. Quite cool. The staff in the boat and on land were very accommodating, knowledgable and friendly. We had snack provided by the company on the way up and back as well as a great lunch on arrival in Orford bay. HIghly recommended. Second time we've been on tour with these guys ( the other was a bear tour in Toba) also great.

Stunning views and incredible wildlife adventure - We had the perfect weather for the trip, our guides John and Quinn were very knowledgeable about the area and all the animals. We had 10 bear siteings in total, once at Bute we saw one at every stop. We even saw a black bear on the boat trip up. As well as sealions, porpoises and two humpbacks. John always stopped the boat if there was something to see. The lunch provided was plentyful and the trip back did not get too rough. Recommend to anyone who wants to see Grizzly Bears in the wild.

Good grizzly tour - We were blessed with a sunny and calm day for the boat ride and grizzly watching. Our guides Alex and Zoey on the boat were knowledgeable and friendly. The Homolko hosts were personable too. We were fortunate to see several bears catch and eat salmon over the course of more than 2 hours, some at very close range. We saw some humpback whales and sea lions while travelling to and from Bute sound. It is a wonderful area.
