And they will take a walk in the jungle enjoying the flora, fauna of the region. -
Calakmul Archaeological Zone - In this place, travelers will take a private guided tour of the largest and most important Mayan city in Mexico from the classical era.
You will be able to climb the structures and admire from the top the immensity of the largest tropical forest in Mexico that, due to its importance, was declared the First Mixed Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in Mexico, since 2014.
They will take a walk in the jungle, with a guide specialized in birds, where they will observe birds such as the ocellated turkey, canoe-billed toucan, king vulture and elegant eagle; they will listen to the fauna such as howler monkeys and observe the beauty of the flora of the region such as orchids.
- Escarcega - At this stop, the traveler will taste typical food from the city of Escárcega.
- Campeche - The route will continue by road to the city of Campeche. Technical stops may be made to go to the bathroom or have a coffee.

The ruins you can’t forget. - Both Calukmul and Balamkuwere amazing sites. We got to see several local animals on our way to and from Calukmul. While that isn’t promised it sure was special. Getting to the top of one of the temples in Calukmul afforded us the opportunity to see a monkey! Also an incredible view of the complex and surrounding forest. Balancing was a shorter trips with a big payoff that I won’t spoil. Afterwards lunch/dinner was delicious, and well earned. The drive is long if you only go for one day, but worth it. Our guide was Willberth. He was amazing. A soft spoken gentleman with a passion for the natural world and human history. Couldn’t recommend this more. Went in the rainy season, had both sites to ourselves.

Fantastic trip to Calakmul - Wonderful trip to Calakmul and our guide Wilbert was amazing. Learnt so much about the Mayans and this wonderful city. Highly recommend this trip!

If you want an expert guide to the less-traveled Mayan sites, Chelita is your tour service. - We went on a three-day tour of Mayan ruins in both Campeche and Quintana Roo, spending two nights in Xipujil. Wilberth was a fabulous guide. He is extremely knowledgable, keeping up on the latest archaeological research and Mayan history and language, and eager to answer questions. He is also passionate about the environment and bird watching with an amazing eye. His English was excellent. We would definitely go with Chelita again.
