• Icefields Parkway - Journey north along the stunning Icefields Parkway in Banff. This is a rare chance to witness pristine alpine landscapes at high altitudes, including glaciers, forests, and lakes. You might even catch a glimpse of local wildlife and flora, such as American Paintbrushes, all from the comfort of your bus seat!
• Banff - The tour begins in Banff, picking up guests from various hotel locations before heading onto the Highway towards Lake Louise village, our next stop before continuing north on the Icefields Parkway. Did you know Banff was named after Banffshire, Scotland?
• Castle Junction - Guests starting in Banff will pass by Castle Mountain on HWY 1, a truly postcard-worthy moment! This mountain is a remarkable feature and a favorite spot for alpine climbers.

Your guide will highlight the animal overpasses spanning the highway, which enable various species to cross safely. Fun idea: check out the timelapse videos posted by Parks Canada showcasing wildlife using the overpasses and underpasses!

• Bow Lake - We will pause at Jimmy Simpson’s historic Num-Ti-Jah Lodge (meaning pine marten in the local language) situated on the shores of Bow Lake. Although the lodge is closed in winter, it remains a point of interest for its impressive log work.

Bow Glacier and Bow Lake are the sources of the river flowing through Banff. Bow Lake exhibits the stunning milky hue characteristic of glacier-fed lakes and becomes a frozen wonderland in winter! Restrooms on-site are outhouses only.

• Peyto Lake - A breathtaking and magnificent lake viewed from a high platform; Peyto is the quintessential picture-perfect lake. Note that this stop requires some walking from the parking lot - even in winter - on a snowy and sometimes icy trail. Proper footwear is necessary. The guide may decide to skip this stop if conditions are unsuitable that day (winter).

However, every effort will be made to showcase all the different lakes and stops from the best angles and viewpoints available, tailored to the day’s conditions and group capability. Stops may be added, removed, or switched to ensure the best tour experience!

• Lake Louise - We will visit Lake Louise, renowned for its pristine glacial blue water and home to the world-famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel.

Enjoy views of Victoria Glacier, Fairview, the Beehive, and surrounding peaks. In summer, the ice-cold lake boasts a blue hue rarely seen, while in winter, the lake is frozen and captivating in its shades of white; capture your own photos of this moment.

• Crowfoot Glacier - Experience a glacier firsthand! We make a brief stop at Crowfoot Glacier during our journey on the Icefields Parkway.

This is the guest’s first chance to see a glacier up close and the landscape shaped by glacial movement on this renowned drive. Local birds often greet visitors at the viewpoint.
