• High Court of Australia: Australia’s highest court of appeal, housed in a ten-story building with three courtrooms. The architecture is remarkable. No entry fee.
• Old Parliament House: Once Australia’s most important building, now the Museum of Australian Democracy. Everything has been preserved since the Hawke Government moved to the current Parliament House. No entry fee, and there is a café on-site.
• Parliament House: The home of Australia’s Parliament, considered one of the great buildings of the world. It was the result of a worldwide competition. An original Magna Carta, dated 1297, is on display here. No entry fee.
• National Museum of Australia: Features Australiana from the last two hundred years, including Phar Lap’s heart, the original prototype for the Holden Motor Car, and the Pompeii Exhibition.
• National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA): Explores the history of film, sound, and radio in Australia. No entry fee. (Available on request only.)
