100% recommend ! Favorite experience to date! - This experience was nothing short of amazing. Vanessa and Max were more than accommodating and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. We ate delicious food, swam in the most beautiful space and learned about the Mayan culture. It was a unique and fun experience and we can’t wait to book another through them!

Jaguar Journey - The Best tour group!!! - My wife and I have been wanting to visit Cancun and the Yucatan peninsula to learn and experience a little of Mayan culture and history. I was fortunate to find Jaguar Journey, owned by Axel and Vanessa. My first contact with them was met with enthusiasm, excitement and appreciation for us choosing them, a small locally owned business to curate our trip. Vanessa made excellent suggestions so we went with that plan and it turned out to be one of our most memorable trips we have ever taken. Axel met us at our hotel at 7am with our driver Raymundo, both of them were so warm and friendly we instantly felt at ease and knew we made the right choice using their services. On the drive to Chichen Itza the largest Mayan ruin, Axel with so informative and passionate about his work, he went over and above just being a tour guide. After visiting the ruins we visited a local Mayan owned business for breakfast thereafter we were taken to a private cenote which was an amazing experience and after that we had lunch with a local Mayan family which was delicious. Day 1 was about 12 hours long but worth every minute. Day 2 was a trip to Tulum, the second day was as exciting and we learned so much, again Axel was so impressive with his knowledge and passion for his work with the Mayan people, their history and culture. There are many corporate type tour groups in that area of Cancun, my recommendation is to go with a smaller locally owned business and in Jaguar Journey we found the perfect match. Muchas Gracias, Axel and Vanessa. Indras & Tilly, Santa Barbara, CA

Jaguar Tours Impress Experienced World Travelers - Ray (Driver) and Riaz (Tour Guide) were a great team. They arrived early to the hotel for the 0800 pickup and off we went. First stop was a walk around Playa Delfines and our picture at the ‘ Cancun ‘ sign then off to an off the beaten path to a nearby Mayan archeological site. After that a stop at the Mayan Museum where Riaz expertly regaled us with the geo-political history of the Mayan culture which helped explain what we were seeing as many of the exhibits were in Spanish only. We declined the cenote visit for more time at mercado 23 and 28. Ray and Riaz combined their knowledge of the markets to take us to interesting stores where we proceeded to shop for unique items for as and the family back home. Lunch at a nice outdoor restaurant near the bull ring where Riaz recommended delicious foods we would never have asked for. Ray was an excellent driver keeping the car well positioned for pickups and making us feel comfortable and safe. Vanessa, (the office point of contact) has been wonderful helping plan our trips and responding rapidly to any inquires we had. If you’re going to spring for a private tour, Jaguar is the tour company to go with. Looking forward to the upcoming Coba trip.

Will be recommending to friends and family - This experience blew me away. As someone who typically likes to relax on the beach, I’m so glad I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to go on this experience. Yahir is not only incredibly knowledgeable, he is also very passionate. We were able to try authentic street food (the torta may have been one of the best things I have ever eaten) and shop at places with authentic souvenirs. The cenote was beautiful and he gets you there before anyone else is there, we had the whole place to ourself. The Mayan history was so interesting and I learned so much. 10/10 and will be recommending to all my friends who visit Cancun.

Great excursion away from the touristy hotel strip - If you want to spend time outside of the "touristy" Cancun hotel strip and experience true Mexican culture, this is the perfect tour for you. Yahir was knowledgeable, passionate, and so kind. The experience and food all so good and so authentic. Definitely a highlight of my Mexico trip.

Truly authentic and beautiful - I can’t say enough great things about Axel and this tour. It was exactly what I was looking for with my young kids - a real experience with Mexico, outside of the varnished resorts. For starters, Axel got us to a cenote before ANYONE else showed up. He knew another group was coming at 10, and when we got there at 9 am, we had the WHOLE cenote to ourselves. We could zip line through it, cliff jump, swim through the crystal clear waters - all by ourselves. It was amazing. Then Axel brought us to a real local market (the exact opposite of a tourist trap) and we just sampled and meandered our way through. For lunch, we tried so many Yucatan specialities that we never would have known to try, and the food was simple but delicious. I note his van had AC and was meticulously clean too, with snacks and drinks for everyone. Then, we headed to the Mayan ruins/museum. Being so close to town and shaded, it made it easy for our young kids to enjoy it (unlike chichen itza that’s over 2 hours away with no sun cover). Axel was so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the archeology and people. This was truly a pleasure and gave us a small slice of the fascinating culture in this area. Thank you so much, Axel. I have no doubt you will achieve your dreams and beyond.

A Perfect Day! - If you're looking for a tour: this is who you should book with. Our experience was incredible. Axel/Jaguar Journey welcomed us with knowledge and passion for this gorgeous region. It's impossible to choose a favorite part of our tour, because each leg of it felt very special. I loved the tour of the Maya museum and ruins because of how insightful it was! I loved the vibrant marketplace that let us get a taste of local Cancun! I loved the thrill and beauty of the cenote! And I loved to try delicious Yucatan flavors! We will treasure these memories and I would recommend Jaguar Journey to anybody traveling to this region. I wish I could give it ten stars. Thank you so much!

Authentic Experience in Cancun - Getting a sense of the energy and spirit of an area is very important to my husband and I. So, we thoroughly enjoyed our day with Axel and his historical knowledge of the Yucatan area and of the different peoples that call it home. Axel as a guide is easy-going, has an excellent sense of humour, and was flexible to include our requests. If you are looking for a unique experience, Jaguar Journeys is a terrific choice.

Loved this city tour of Cancun - There were four adults in our group. Axtel, our tour guide picked us up at our hotel at the agreed time. We found Axtel to be very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and accommodating. He took us to swim in a special cenote. We were the only ones there. One of our group lost his wedding ring while swimming in the cenote. Axtel, not having swim trunks jumped in anyway diving 15 feet down trying to find the ring. Needless to say an act far beyond what one would expect from a tour guide. He took us to a local market where the locals shop. The best and more fruit and vegetables than I’ve ever seen. Here we also saw shops of local artisans where we purchased our souvenirs. We went to a Mayan restaurant for amazing food and then to the Mayan museum. He is very knowledgeable and was also our guide in the museum. If you are looking to book a tour, you cannot find a better tour company or guide. They are the best. I highly recommend Jaguar Journey.
