Speedboat + Catamaran Tour - The speedboating portion was really fun. The controls are easy to understand and the time spent driving them isn’t too long or short. The catamaran trip was also enjoyable and everyone on board was helpful and knowledgeable. Also, I left my phone at the check in desk and noticed as we departed. Luckily a friend called it and they were able to store it with security until I arrived 6-7 hours later. The included buffet on Isla Mujeres was meh. They give you enough time to explore the island and get local food before the catamaran returns which is great, and there’s a lot to do. All around great service in both portions. I would likely book this again.

5 Stars for Speedboat/Snorkeling and 1 Star for Snorkeling Trip to Isla Mujeres - The first part of our trip (speedboat/snorkeling) was excellent. Our guide was wonderful -- very capable and friendly -- and the whole experience was a lot of fun. After that, things went downhill. We paid full price for two very expensive pictures (didn't even try to haggle) and got a hard copy of each. But we were supposed to get electronic copies sent to our email and never got them. The trip to Isla Mujeres, which included snorkeling on the way, was outright bad. These were the issues: 1) The sea was a bit choppy so they strongly discouraged people from snorkeling. About 8-9 of us out of about 40 guests went ahead anyway. The visibility was poor but swimming wasn't that challenging. The biggest problem was that our boat only provided masks, snorkel tubes and swim belts while the other 6 boats in the same spot provided their snorkelers with masks and snorkel tubes, as well as swim fins and full flotation vests, which may it easier and safer for their guests. 2) Our guide told us that he would make it up to the group by giving us a complementary experience: a choice of swimming with the sharks or feeding the manatis. However, he didn't tell us that this was at the same place where we were stopping for lunch or how to ask for it, nor did he make arrangements for it. He simply dropped us off and said he'd be back in about an hour and a half. Since these activities weren't in plain view, no one knew to request the "complementary" experience. 3) When we got to Isla Mujeres, our guide told us to be aware of scammers at the port who would try to take advantage of us. He said he would arrange for any activities we wanted. One of the options was renting a golf cart to drive around the island. My husband and I and another couple went in together on a golf cart for $1200 MX from someone that they took us to. The cart didn't run well but we didn't expect it to break down and leave us stranded about 5 miles from town. We had to push it out of the street onto a safe spot and take a taxi back. At first, the rental guy refused to give us our money back or pay for the taxi. After my husband and I got mad, he offered to give us half. When we threatened to call the police, he gave us a full refund but not the cost of the taxi. In the meantime, our guide just stood by and didn't do a thing to help us. When we told him how disappointed we were, he had the nerve to say that we were lucky to have gotten our money back because we had "disrespected" the rental guy and and to give up on the cost of the taxi. In the end, our guide ended up paying for the taxi anyway because he didn't get our customary $40 tip or the tip from the other couple.

Upgraded lunch buffet.... - The speed boat ride was great but the catamaran experienced didn't go well. The supervisor at Aquatours offer a better lunch buffet for extra $20 USD/person you will eat at a AC room with better food selection including sushi so we took that offer. Once we got to the buffet lunch there was no sushi on the buffet table. We spoke with the waiter and he said the sushi will be ready in 2 hours and it's already 2pm so we waited but we already started eating. After a couple of hours no sushi so i talked to a tour supervisor and he said it will be ready in 30 minutes, past 30 minutes no sushi so the supervisor and the waiter started arguing. After another 30 minutes the waiter gave us a plate of veggie sushi made of rice with carrots and celerey and they didn't put it in the buffet table they made it just for us. There was 2 other families that complain. My advice Never get the upgraded buffet when you book this tour
