Ferry yes! - Relaxing and smooth - easy to purchase vendors speak English buy from ferry company at port if you have cash you’ll be able to buy from the employees who work close to the main line (Ultramar tickets $34 USD round trip.)Took taxes from downtown Cancun $ 12.50 USD each way- don’t bother with shuttle $40 that’s ridiculous - taxes give flat rate $250 pesos no need to haggle. Hotels - depending where you stay we stayed Hampton in cumbres a residential area and very safe. - next to a well known American Eatery Fridays- SAMs club and local fare authentic walking distance parking lot host Starbucks. It’s a mall area. I digress- take ferry to island mujeres beach is with it- when you see locals with coolers you know you’re in a sweet spot. The music on ferry is enjoyable as you cruise through the blue water smooth - there’s a bar and food but we didn’t go below deck. We sat on top deck- bring sunscreen. Get round trip ticket you save $2USD

First level of transport! - The ferries of the Enterprise ULTRAMAR, are in generally very good condition, do not smell of Diesel its engines, travel at very good speed and are comfortable, if they are considered as ferries and not as yachts. We highly recommend using them for what they are, marine public transport between Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

Fast and comfortable but could be cheaper - We booked our tickets for £62 for two adults and one child (3y) from Getyourguide.com. The tour provider was Ultraman. We did the catamaran tour in our previous visit, which is way more expensive and longer, though better for those wanting an open bar and snorkeling. Few things to note: 1. You don’t need to carry your passport, digital copies are fine. 2. Although they state a time on the ticket, it is valid for any departure or return time during the day. These can be checked on the tour provider’s website. 3. If you leave from Playa Caracol, the ferry will make a stop at Playa Tortugas en route, so might as well start from there as they are quite close by. 4. You need to pay environmental fee at the dock during check in, and get a paper ticket in exchange of your voucher. The ferry was very fast, with air conditioned seating on the bottom deck and open air at the top. The only thing that bothered us was the need to stand in a jam packed queue for about an hour before boarding on the way back.

CANCUN TO WOMEN'S ISLAND FERRY HALF PRICE - We traveled from Puerto Juarez Cancun to Isla Mujeres and many locals told us that it was convenient to travel by yellow, which costs half the price and is the one they use, some boats have double decker and you can see from above the sea while traveling, others only the part below but the difference is worth it. The one that is blue and yellow is much more picturesque but costs twice as much. For Argentines who at the moment have such a hard time acquiring Dollars, the difference is important.

Cross to the Island, the best! - Good super punctual and constant Service. Buy tickets online and avoid lining up for boarding. It is clean and has live music on board, from my perception I would have liked to travel without music, but not bad.

Do not purchase - Do not purchase the ultrimar ferry tickets from viator! The tickets were not valid and we had repurchase tickets thru ultrimar at the ferry site!

Chaos in the ranks to tackle - The staff who receive to line "No" is trained, they do not take the temperature, much less put gel, for the same reason, people do not respect them, they get as they want, there is no healthy distance, gives the impression that are the services they pay not to be supervised, on board the one who sings makes you a pleasant moment and I think it is the one that takes your mind off the chaos before getting on. Unfortunate that there is no competition!

They don't accept, will pay double. - We purchased 5 round trip tickets for 145.00, confirmation # 1183230588. They did not accept our tickets in Apple wallet or the paper confirmation with scan code. We have to buy tickets again and were changed $150.00 at the ferry ticket office. We want a refund!!

SCAM- DON'T TAKE THE TOURS YOU OFFER ON THE FERRY - We were offered a boat tour along the coast for snorkeling and dinner with whole fried fish. The crew of the very irresponsible boat. We weren’t warned that we should put on our swimwear before boarding and had to change into the hold of the boat. Dinner was a heavy roast with noodles for everyone (awful), when docking, there was nowhere to change, no dressing rooms, and the bathrooms were full of excrement. A scam. I do not recommend that you buy these tours. it is better to go on your own to a hotel on the island.
