Parsifal Catamaran is a Scam-Isla Mujeres-Don't fall into the trap - My wife and I had two tickets for a tour with an open bar on a large catamaran round trip to Isla Mujeres, but arriving at the pier or pier, we wanted to upgrade to a more private catamaran with only a capacity of thirty people. The saleswoman told us that this catamaran named Parsifal was a luxury one, with an international open bar, guides and professional crew, which included guided snorkeling and an open buffet upon arriving at Isla Mujeres. When boarding the Catamaran Parsifal, there was a very unpleasant attitude from the crew except for the guide named Jesús who was a little more empathetic, but the other 3 crew members were rude and poorly behaved with people, well like our intention and that of the others. 20 people who were traveling on the tour were obviously having a good time, we concentrated on the beautiful landscape we were seeing, while the crew passed by with long and angry faces scolding people for anything, very unpleasant. As it was supposed to be an international open bar, I looked at the drinks they had and it was really "pure poison" in some hard plastic glasses that were all chewed up and of questionable hygiene. I asked "the bartender" who was the same one who cleaned the bathrooms for a whiskey, his face was confused and he offered me a brand that looked like gasoline, I asked him if he had a better one and he reluctantly took out a Ballantines whiskey from somewhere else (the cheapest) . After snorkeling for half an hour with horrible equipment that I washed several times in the sea before using it, I went again to ask for another whiskey (as if to kill the bacteria in the snorkel) and the "bartender" pretended to prepare the same one for me, but without knowing that I was observing him, I saw that he prepared it with whiskey that smelled and tasted like gasoline, (don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm very delicate in flavors, but at least it won't poison you). Upon arriving at Isla Mujeres, upon getting off the catamaran, the guide Jesús threatened all the people that if they did not arrive exactly at the agreed time he would leave and leave them stranded on the Island. We arrived at the buffet and without exaggeration the food was horrible, everything was messy and the drinks "like drinking stagnant sea water" it is true that I can go on, but you already got the idea because you should not pay for the tour to Isla Mujeres on the Parsifal Catamaran. but as a grand finale, when we were already getting off the catamaran, Jesús "the guide" began to pass a box asking or rather forcing people to tip very loudly, even saying that it had to be divided among four so it couldn't be a smaller amount, people at that point were really uncomfortable and disappointed, but they didn't care at all, that they didn't scam you with a false service. Conclusion, if you want to go to Isla Mujeres, the best thing you can do is buy a parasol (since the rent is ridiculously expensive), pay for the ferry to Isla Mujeres and spend the whole day in peace, it will be much cheaper and you will enjoy that wonderful island more. .
