Jolly Roger and pirate show in Cancun was the best! - This was by far, my favorite excursion that I went on! The actors and crew were second to none! I laughed a lot, and drank even more! There was a concert and performance on a pirate ship, out in the ocean. The food was great, and everyone aboard had a good time! Warning, not for those that have motion sickness, the ship was rocking and rolling! 😉

Very Impressed with the whole experience - From the time you arrive to the very end you will be entertained by the Pirates of Jolly Rogers. It starts at the Dock from check in till check out. They are all in character and do their best to get people involved. There is entertainment for the kids as well. The drinks are great. The food was very good. We had the surf and turf, it was prepared just as we had ordered. Raxes was our pirate for the evening, and he did a phenomenal job! We were able to get drinks right away. The boat ride was very nice. It was beautiful looking back to shore when it was all lit up for the night.

All aboard for a wonderful experience - Fantastic night aboard the Jolly Roger! The crew were absolutely fantastic, from service to the food and of course the show. Well worth the money, the highlight of all our excursions. Really appreciate the detail and interactions with the adults and kids. We lived out our pirate dreams and had a really great meal. 10/10 would recommend!

Aarrrgh! In the best way! - What an amazing night - we were completely entertained from checking in to the time we stepped off the boat. Food was surprisingly good, (my prime rib tacos wee absolutely fantastic), the drinks were not too strong - which is good, because they’re unlimited. The pirate show was great fun and had something for all ages. And you get a personal pirate to look after your group through the night.
Lots of fun and dancing at the end.
Highly recommend!

Treated like family - Everyone was very personable. The smiles were amazing and bigger than we had seen on this whole trip. We felt like part of a family before, during, and after the show. The show itself was fantastic. It was farther away from the hotel then I anticipated but that was on me. We could have not asked for a better time.

Best Show in Cancun - I. Can't. Stress. Enough. How. Much. FUN THIS WAS!
Honestly, this was a night to remember. The pirate ship was immaculate and the staff were absolutely amazing. The focus shifted from kids, to guests to kids. Everyone treated us like family. There were multiple parts of the show. While seated they kept things interesting and engaging by making jokes and selecting guests to partake in the play. Other parts we were left to explore the ship and take pictures. After dinner there is a dance party and we were free to snap pics in the brig, galley, and with other members of the pirate crew. The light show was amazing, fireworks and an actual pirate mutiny!
I WILL be returning the next time I visit Cancun and the drummer had BETTER have a curly moustache like me.

Bit overpriced for the experience but not a bad show overall - Well I'm just about giving this 4, because I think to some extent I was the wrong person for it. I was not overwhelmed by this experience for the money paid, and it is not cheap.
We rushed to arrive at the time specified (5pm, 30min prior), to find we were one of the first to arrive, and then the boat didn't depart until at least 6.30, seemingly because it was waiting for a number of late-comers... so that's annoying... The pirate actors try to keep you entertained while waiting on the beach but it was a long wait before anything actually happened.
The actors do a great job; good, fun interaction with the crowd, especially switching between English and Spanish - although we felt it would be sensible to just do an English show and a Spanish show (it was Nov so maybe they do in high season?) as it's confusing at times, and must be immensely tricky for them! So for what it matters we didn't quite follow the story (though unsurprisingly it's not exactly West End quality), but there was drama and some fun moments with sword fights, people jumping ship and fireworks etc. The ship itself is quite impressive; it was very cool sailing out on it, if a little rocky at times, so just be aware if you're not of sound stomach.
Most of the live music was pretty great - kudos to the pirate guitarist who never speaks (only grunts) as his guitar work was impressive. Some great vocals, but some of the live music was a little average, and for the final party element, some interesting though slightly dated/obscure song choices if you're trying to get people dancing. But I am a musician so this is half of what I do for a living - most people probably would be perfectly happy with it.
Our pirate waiter was very attentive, regularly checking on us and bringing drinks to our row; he was excellent. But the drinks, were not great. On all these trips they tell you it's open bar (you've paid for it essentially) - they'll bring you what you like, but they were basic cocktails with little flavour and probably not very strong, although I didn't mind that, I just wished I'd actually enjoyed drinking them. My mojito had mint leaves in it but otherwise I could never have told you it was a mojito...
The food was pretty great, lovely salmon (though desert was disappointing). But, it takes, a looong time to get to it, because it's the show first, and only then do you get fed around 9pm - so be aware of that. They offer nachos earlier on, but of course you pay extra... -_-
As stated there's a final 'party' section, and a little more of a show with flags. They encourage you to dance but there just wasn't many of your typical tunes that get people up, maybe a bit too old Rock focused.
In sum I just didn't quite feel it was worth the money, but maybe I'm hard to please - plus I wasn't feeling 100%. I should say my girlfriend really enjoyed it, and some will find the experience amazing; particularly families with young kids I'm sure will love it, as they did on our trip. There must be a lot of expenses to put this on, but, at over £100 per person, I really expected this to be top-notch everything, and it just felt like it was not quite hitting all the marks. I really tried to go with it and get involved, but for the money it just felt a bit dated and cheesy. Overall, not a bad show, needs some modern touches, drinks could be better, actors, staff, food and music was good, just not amazing.

Wish we hadn’t…wouldn’t go again even if free - Pros:
>Live music and parts of the performance were entertaining.
>Can make friends during the trip with other guests.
Cons:
>Timing issues: Dinner was served an hour late, which was tough for kids (eat before you go).
>Food quality: Lobster tasted like mashed potatoes mixed with grits (almost unbelievable how thoroughly they manage to ruin lobster), and the filet was like well-done roast beef. Vegetables were overcooked.
>Drinks: Mixed drinks were often undrinkable, beer was served warm in plastic cups, and cocktails were poorly made. Even sodas arrived diluted and without much carbonation. Anejo tequila shots are a good choice if you want a drink with alcohol.
>Performance: The performance was the focus of the trip but was unnecessarily long and the entire experience could be improved by making it 90 minutes shorter (or more) with better organization and greater attention to quality food and beverages.
>Noise level: The volume was uncomfortably high, and there were loud gunshots throughout the performance. Bring ear plugs if you have sensitive ears.
>Treasure hunt: Kids found it boring.
>Tipping pressure: Some pirates hassled guests for tips at the end of the cruise.
Overall:
If you decide to go, manage your expectations regarding food and drinks, be prepared for a long evening, and bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to loud noises.
