JUNK DINNER AND MAXIMUM DISAPPOINTMENT - They ruined our end of the year. I stayed at the Xcaret Mexico hotel where I had everything included and I already had my New Year dinner booked which was also included when I booked the hotel. The hotel restaurants are amazing and the food is varied and delicious. On the 30th, when I booked my excursion to the cenotes, they tell me that there is availability for the end of the year dinner in Xoximilco with tasting of 20 dishes of typical Mexican food. I travel with two little girls, so I asked about the children’s menu and the salesman tells me that there is no menu for children, but that among 20 dishes obviously something they would like and convinced me, it seemed logical. The problem comes when after eating the salad and arriving at the first place where we were served a ladle of green cream on a bread, our guide “Ivan” tells us that the second course was a lobster and then a delicious dessert. At that moment I ask about the 20 tasting dishes and tell him that there is a mistake because we had hired another dinner and he tells me that there was only that option for everyone and there was nothing else for dinner. Anyone think I'd trade a free hotel buffet for 3 courses? It doesn't make any sense. I wait to see if I could eat the third course, but surprise, the lobster comes next to a piece of dried meat that I also could not eat because I don’t eat fish and someone decided to put the lobster and meat stuck on the same plate. I ordered the children’s menu which was a burger, but another surprise, there was no extra dish and I had to exchange the dish with my daughter for dinner more than a salad and a green cream spoon. A dinner of shame for the end of the year. The girls' food, even to give to the animals. A dried chicken tucked into a hamburger bread and they didn't have a bit of sauce that could make that a little more pleasant, I ordered it, but neither did they. Is that what they call typical Mexican food at Xoximilco? If that’s the idea they want to offer of their culture, it’s a pity. It's a shame they ruin such a special night for thinking about money and not people. Sorry, Xoximilco, I get robbed once in my life, never again. The one who designed the New Year’s Eve dinner, I hope he had the same dinner as me and offered his children the same burger he put for the children in the trajineras, 0 empathy with others.
