A great cycle ride - A great experience from the start - booking with Marda and Maria was easy and Marda provided full details of the cycle ride. The only slight negative was that they preferred payment in cash. We use electric bikes and paid the extra to have these - which although most of the road cycling was down hill personally we were glad of the extra power whilst riding along the Levada. The other 4 people in our group managed quite easily with the ordinary bikes. We had Fabio as our guide and he was great. Looked after us well, was informative and fun. Introduced us to poncha at the cafe break - a new cure all. The downhill road race back to the booking office was exhilarating. Personally i would have preferred a bit more leisurely pace through the levada to enjoy the surroundings and maybe take some photos. I did stop to take some but felt I was always trying to catch up after. However all in all very good and would thoroughly recommend.

Fun easy bike ride with some views - Looking for a good way to spend a morning and we decided on the easy bike tour as my wife isn't as proficient on a bike as I am. Nice easy start going down hill, if you can pull a brake lever you can do this ride. Off the road and into the wooded area following the levada which is pretty flat and nothing difficult. A stop in a local bar for some Poncho was a nice break which gave my wife extra confidence on the way down. A friendly tour guide, no pressure to keep up or go faster and the weather was really good. Definitely recommended. Thanks.

Family fun - Great cycle last week. At the end of an action packed week where we canyoned, kayaked and snorkeled with Lokoloko, we cycled! We were unsure of how intense the trail would be, the hills looked big and bikes heavy.... but worry not. The mountain bikes are easy to ride, the brakes trustworthy and this gentle tour was great fun. Brought by minibus to starting point, we free-wheeled downhill on roads before joining a levada. We thoroughly enjoyed going on quiet trails through eucalyptus woods. No big hills to climb. Finished off back at the office having cycled over 20km, dropping over 1000m and didn't break a sweat. Was a lot of fun & we all finished with grins on our faces. Thanks guys for a great week.

Good experience - Perfect, the ride was good with different zones. The pace was nice with some stops for food. Will do it again. Group of 8 people.

Bring your own first aid kit - Landscapes are breathtaking but the guides have no clue what to do when there’s an accident. I fell and bruised my arm and leg. They didn’t have a proper first aid kit and barely helped me to clean the wounds with a wipe. They just wanted to continue. At the end of the tour, instead of advising me how to take care of the wounds, they just asked me if I had paid. I think for the high price lokoloko charges, they could include some protections. I am a beginner but I was put in an advanced group, so I felt inconvenient most of the time. Stay away if you’re a beginner!
