While underground Cavers will rappel down an 18 m drop, crawling, climbing and scrambling over rough terrain to navigate your way to The Grande Gallery & The Grotto! There will be some small space wriggles and squeezes offered adding to your “Caver For The Day” Experience. You will spend approximately 4 hours underground on the Adventure Tour and we promise it will be an unforgettable 4 hours!

The Adventure Tour has earned the title of a Canadian Signature Experience. Being the most extensive tour we provide in Rat’s Nest Cave, the Adventure Tour is the ultimate package. Participants will descend 18 meters (equivalent to 6 floors!) within the cave, and also get to test their mettle in areas like the warm-up squeeze, challenge squeeze, and the Laundry Chute – a part of the cave that offers an additional challenge but significantly enhances the fun.
- Minimum numbers apply (minimum 2). There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund
- Caving is a moderately strenuous activity. Guests should be prepared to hike uphill for 30-40 minutes on a mountain trail, in addition to climbing, crawling, squeezing, and sliding through the cave. All participants must wear a helmet as well as a safety harness which has a maximum waist size of 45” (114 cm) and a maximum leg size of 33” (84 cm)
- Not recommended for pregnant women beyond their first trimester

The Wonders of Caving - Today was the day that I had discovered one of my new favourite activities, caving. The whole process was fun from start to finish and once you are inside the caves, the stuff you see will blow your mind. Many geological structures in the cave are thousands to tens of thousands of years old, relating way back to the last ice age. It amazes me how the temperature in the cave has stayed at around 4.8° C for thousands of years, and will stay that way for thousands more. My guide Grace was wonderful too. She was a very knowledgeable individual who could explain many strange objects found in the cave and was able to guide everybody throughout the cave very safely. Grace had made my day by taking me down here, and I hope others will enjoy this activity as much as I will.

Amazing Caving Experience! - This was by far our coolest experience in the Banff area, and we hit a lot of the attractions! Brent was so knowledgeable about the cave, its history, and the science behind it, which made the whole thing that much better! We went into it thinking it would just be a fun, adventurous thing to do the squeezes, but the beauty of the entire cave was what made the entire experience what it was! We are not experienced cavers by any means, but this was very doable for participants of all ages and abilities!

Put this on the top of your list to do while in Canmore Alberta it’s literally life changing - It was a spiritual experience for me and it tested me physically and allowed me to overcome my fears of doing things with an ilieostomy. That being said it blew my mind how beautiful it was and how much life is fragile but prevails under the harshest of circumstances. I definitely recommend this experience to anyone nature at it’s purest most beautiful even in the dark there’s so much to see. My guide Grace was amazing she’s knowledgeable and intuitive and definitely deserves a raise $$$$. I can’t say enough except go open yourself to an adventure that will last a lifetime. Grace so much love to you 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Great time underground - Definitely a workout but a lot of fun! Guide was great, and rappelling down into utter darkness is wild. Takes a little bravery for sure.

Canmore Cave Tour - Adventure tour was well worth it! The repelling section was alot of fun. The laundry shoot was also one of our favorite parts of the tour.

Cave exploring adventure! - This was an amazing and unique experience. It was very neat to experience a "wild" cave where we were sliding and crawling through all kinds of crazy places. Our guide, Tiffany, was awesome. She shared lots of knowledge about the cave and conservation of the site, and also was a lot of fun, laughing along with us as we adventured. It was definitely something that felt a little bit outside of my comfort zone and I was nervous about not being able to keep up with the rest of the group, but everyone was very supportive and in the end it was an incredible new experience.

Amazing and Unique Experience - It was a phenomenal tour. Our guide (Tiffany) was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It is a completely different world down there which makes for a unique experience. I highly recommend going on the Adventure tour. You will not regret it.
