The history of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes is deeply intertwined with that of the Film Festival. Initially, the first ceremonies were held in the old Cannes casino before a dedicated building was constructed. The new building was inaugurated on 09/11/1949 and was initially called Palais Croisette. In 1983, it was replaced by a new palace after a violent storm damaged the old one. The final palace, built on the site of the old casino, was inaugurated in December 1982. It also hosts events like the International Musical Publishing Market, MIPCOM, and the NRJ Music Awards. -
