Amazing Train Ride on Royal Gorge Railrood - Do not hesitate to make the Royal Gorge Route Railroad a part of your trip while visiting Colorado. The train station is located in Canon City and takes you on a picturesque trip through the Royal Gorge. This train ride provides a continuous photo op of the most incredible rock formations and you will be in awe the entire trip. We chose the Vista View car and enjoyed a well-prepared lunch and we were well-served by Selena. A ride with views you will not regret.

Beyond 5-star service with Vanessa! - I can't say enough about the staff and overall experience on the Royal Gorge! We had a tough start to our trip, with our rental car breaking down and the staff at Royal Gorge quickly and hospitably changed our time. They even waived the fee usually associated with such changes. Then, when we got to the evening train ride, we were disappointed to find that the glass top portion is only open for lunch (our original reservation). Vanessa, our server, allowed us to eat in the glass top portion ALONE , and we were treated like VIPS by all staff on the train. The food was SPECTACULAR and the views were breath-taking. The staff were beyond kind and accommodating, knowledgeable about area, and engaging. We can't thank the staff enough for all they did to turn a miserable day into an experience we won't forget.

First Class Experience with Views to Match - A first rate experience from beginning to end. We boarded the train and headed for our seats in the vista roof car. There was a glass of champagne waiting for us and we were greeted by Cesar our server. We were one of only two tables booked for the ride, so we had the car to ourselves as we enjoyed beer and wine flights and a delectable buffalo rib lunch. Everything was outstanding. Cesar was perfection. He explained what we were seeing and catered to our every need aboard the train. The views were amazing and the river was alive with kayakers and rafters with scenery out of a guide book. We paused underneath the Royal Gorge Bridge and were able to go out onto the open air car for better picture taking. Let me be clear: You get what you pay for. We felt the experience was well worth the price. We had an entire train car to share with one other couple with whom we shared wonderful conversation and our delightful server. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Cesar and everyone at Royal Gorge Railroad for a phenomenal experience that my friend and I will remember forever.

Awesome - We came from NY and Florida as a road trip. This was on our list and it lived up to the expectation. Beautiful views, history and great tour guides. You can watch the view on the outside or in your street. The best part of our time was with Team member, Thomas. He gave us info about the train, was a great character, and made us feel welcomed. He was such a fun guy and made us enjoy the ride. Thomas was the man!! Thank you this great experience for out of towners

Not worth the money for our family. - By the end of the train ride, our family was quite bored. The train goes forward for about an hour and then backs up and you see the same things you saw on the way up. Waitstaff (Acacia) was great and very friendly. Food was mediocre. We had 2 kids with us and we thought they would love going on a train but unfortunately they did not enjoy it much.

Will not recommend this trip to my friends. - We had ride in Vista Dome and it was absolutely below expectations. Very expensive compare to the service we received and a low quality of food as well. The cars are in bad condition, dirty, Gorilla tape was used to fix carpet.

BEYOND DISAPPOINTING - Very disappointing experience. It started with a poorly organized “Tickets & Boarding Process”. They force customers to go thru long, slow lines in the Gift Shop to get the tickets. The gift shop was beyond awful. They display countless numbers of items for purchase that boldly illustrate vulgar disgusting words, especially the F___word for everyone’s children and grandchildren to see. People were then forced to stand in line outside while work trucks and personnel carts drove back & forth stirring dust. The train ride was very marginal, drove in one direction and then returned on the same route. The scenery was okay. The food was awful and the prices were high. It’s hard to believe how an event like this could be successful. I hope this helps someone save the money, drive and awful experience and shame on the Manager that approves the sale items on display. He or she needs to be fired!
