Was worth going - I wasn’t expecting to hear what I heard and see what I saw at Assin Manso and Cape Coast Castle. It was very sad and emotional, but definitely worth the trip. The drive was about two and a half to three hours. Shoutout to my guide, Adjei great guy.

An insightful yet emotional experience - Visiting the slave castle in Ghana is something every African should experience. It’s a journey into a dark but important part of our history, and it’s essential that we learn about the struggles, strength, and resilience of our ancestors. The experience at places like Cape Coast Castle is deeply moving as it’s a reminder of the pain that was endured, but also a testament to the survival and spirit that remains. BUT Ghana isn’t just about the nightlife and parties, though those are definitely part of the vibe! It’s also a place to explore, reflect, and learn. Traveling around this beautiful country opens your eyes to so much more than what you might expect. From the historical sites to the natural beauty, and the rich culture, there’s so much to discover and experience.

A Heart-Wrenching Journey Through History at Cape Coast Castle - Visiting Cape Coast Castle was an incredibly emotional experience, one that I will carry with me forever. Stepping onto the grounds of this historical site felt like stepping into a raw and painful chapter of history one that is difficult to comprehend fully, but so essential to remember. As I walked through the dark, cold dungeons where countless enslaved Africans were held before being shipped across the Atlantic, I felt an overwhelming sense of grief and reverence. The silence enveloped the place was heavy, almost as if the spirits of those who suffered there were still present, sharing their pain with anyone willing to listen. The conditions they endured, cramped and suffocating, were unimaginable, and standing there brought a deep sense of sorrow that words can’t fully capture.

Cape coast - First off highly recommend going to cape coast and definitely recommend it with AJ. Even when we were on the road he educated us on different landmarks and history of Ghana. AJ also took us to get local food for breakfast which i loved And after our tour we went and got lunch before getting back on the road. Overall 10/10 amazing experience couldn’t have picked a better person. Oh he takes amazing pictures too.

As an African American, walking through the same halls where our ancestors were held before being shipped across the Atlantic was incredibly moving. The historical significance of this place can't be overstated it’s a painful reminder of the horrors of slavery, but it also serves as a powerful testament to resilience and survival.

I loved it! - AJ was a dope tour guide and he is down to earth. We were able to visit all locations that other tours did not provide in one package due to the distance. The car was very comfortable and spacious. Lunch was included so that is also a plus. He is also a videographer/photographer so he was able to capture high quality footage that we may have missed throughout the day. I would highly recommend this tour whether solo or going with people. You wont regret it.

Visit and learn - Every Black person should visit these historical sites to truly understand and connect with the past. The experience is deeply emotional and eye-opening. We had the opportunity to visit the Assin Manso Slave River and the Cape Coast Slave Castle, both of which carry the weight of a painful history that is hard to fully grasp until you stand in those places. At Assin Manso, we stood by the river where enslaved Africans were bathed before being sent to the coast. The place was filled with echoes of the past, each stone and ripple in the water telling stories of suffering, resilience, and survival. As we listened to the guide, the gravity of the history settled heavily in our hearts.
