Fun, delicious tour with a charming host! - We had a delicious and informative tour with Fez. We visited hole-in-the-wall restaurants with delicious foods that we would never find on our own(one didn’t even have a name!). We learned about many cuisines around the continent as well as the history the people who brought their food to Africa from their homelands.

The most educational and rewarding food tour you'll ever go on - Tawanda was such a great host for this experience! I loved all of our stops and the food we tasted, but I also greatly appreciated the historical and cultural contextualization as we walked around Cape Town together so that I could learn more about this special part of the world. Definitely a highlight during my visit and something you should not miss while in town. Very enjoyable, enlightening, and intellectually stimulating conversation in parts of the city I would not have gotten to explore without local guidance.

Amazing Experience! 🍴🇿🇦 - The African Food and Storytelling Tour in Cape Town was a highlight of our trip! The food was delicious and diverse, and the stories shared gave real depth to the culture and history behind each dish. Our guide was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel personal and engaging. In addition to the tour, we also did the Cape Malay cookery course and had a lot of fun with Shihaam and her friend. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to connect with Cape Town on a deeper level!

Delicious food, Cape Town culture and so much more! - It was a wonderful experience for the food, the history and learning about the various cultures within Cape Town, and how they keep their food traditions alive. Dennis is a wonderful storyteller. He weaves questions to his listeners as a means to engage everyone and bring Cape Town’s history to life. We loved hearing about the different flavours found in the various foods and the different flavour notes in the teas and coffee. We were especially captivated by our Barista sharing with us his personal story. So much more than a food tour and well worth it. We would certainly recommend it. We also enjoyed hearing from the young person assisting Dennis. We are so sorry we missed the names of others who made it a memorable afternoon.

A Capetonian in Cape Town - As a Capetonian born and raised in this city, exploring my home with fresh eyes and taste buds was empowering and emotional. I walk so many of the streets on our route quite often, all without knowing about my neighbours around me. They simply existed as I do. Learning about not only the various cuisines but also the peoples, where they came from and how they came to my country and my city, was not entirely new to me. But the narrative, the approach to introducing their presence in Cape Town was beautiful without romanticising unnecessarily. And then highlighting the history of Cape Town from its birth, to the present, not going into too much detail yet not dismissing an horrific past, was tactfully done. Through each and every introduction, the story is connected and interwoven; continued. Be it with incredible food, a sweet (or savoury) treat, delicious cold drinks, amazing tea, a well chosen book or a tailor who wears his own clothes. Thank you, to my guides, for introducing me to my neighbours.

AFRIKA UNEXPLORED - Dennis is an artist. He knows how to blend story telling and food. I got to have an African experience through food within Cape Town. Cape Town Unexplored does live up to it's name. If you want to explore Afrikan cuisine within Cape Town...Cape Town Unexplored are your people to reach out to. I definitely enjoyed every bite I took🤗

Incredible, an absolute must when in Cape Town - Such an incredible tour. Our guide and his Co-guide were amazing, sharing knowledge about the city, culture, its history and of course food! Loved seeing these parts of the city you would unlikely venture to. The food was delicious, don’t eat before you go on the tour as it’s filling :) Thank you Dennis and team! Can’t wait for the next experience with you.

Great food tour through the nooks and cranny’s of Cape Town! - Felt like we were being shown around by a couple of friends, got to see places we would NEVER go (in a good way) and you’ll eat stuff that would never show up in a Google search. Felt like a true cultural immersion, really great stuff from Fez and his shadow (having trouble remembering his name).
