Perfect South-Afrikan-Day! - The whole trip was perfectly organized. We were picked up by our driver Mr Wilson friendly and punctual. During the ride Wilson explained a lot about the surroundings, country and people! The Aquila Game Reserve was very, very nice! Everything very clean and the food very good! On the exciting ride we could really observe all the animals up close! Finally Wilson brought us back to the hotel - Mr Wilson was a perfect driver on a perfect day! Thanks to the whole team!!!🤩

Day Trip with Wilson to Aquila Game Reserve - We had a great day at Aquila Game Reserve. Our driver Wilson was super nice. Not only did he know a lot about the country, he was also able to tell us lots of interesting stories about the flora and fauna as well as the historical history of Cape Town. It was fun and very interesting to listen to the stories.

Cape Town Marathon Excursion - We started out early in morning. Our guide was Felix. Trip up to Aquila was 2 1/2 hours but what a beautiful drive. Once we arrived, we were severed sparkling wine and then had buffet breakfast. We then took off on the safari to catch the Big Five which we almost did. We saw 4 of the Big 5. The only one we didn’t see was the sneaky Leopard. We saw Elephants, Lions, Giraffe’s, Water Buffalo, Hippo’s, Rino’s, Ostrich and Antelopes. What a spectacular day! After we finished the safari, we had a buffet lunch and then headed to Fairway Winery for a wine and cheese tasting. The winery was also a great spot to stop and try some of the fantastic South African wines. We came back with 3 of our favorite tastings. It was then back to Cape Town. Our driver, Felix was very knowledgeable and was a fantastic guide. Would definitely recommend this tour. It is a long day but well worth it.

Amazing! - We drove to the reserve through the stunning mountains and vineyards, and when we got there were serve a beautiful buffet lunch before we set off on the safari. Our guide Max was very informative and entertaining, we saw Rhino, Lion, Giraffe, Zebras, Ostrich and Elephants. Just make sure you are wrapped up as it is windy on the truck and can be chilly as it is situated up in the mountains. A brilliant day out. we took the afternoon safari but it was plenty of time to see everything.

Kruger park in miniature version....rather expensive however - In itself it was quite a nice day that started with a friendly driver who picked us up at the hotel and brought us to Aquila. After a two hours drive (or a little less) meanwhile listening to driver telling about the history of the Cape, we arrived in Aquila where we were welcomed with the South-African equivalent of champagne (at 8.30 am). After a good breakfast, one of the "rangers" from Aquila drove us through the park in a safari truck for 3 hours. Certainly entertaining, both by the number of wild animals that you see and by the stories of the ranger. We spotted 2 elephants, 1 lion, a few buffalo's, hippo's and rhino's, springboks, zebra's, ostriches, elands and one snake. Be aware, however, that most of these animals undoubtedly walked (not the snake) around this region centuries ago, but have now been brought here from other parts of South Africa to entertain the tourists. After returning to the game resort we were offered an extensive and delicious lunch and could enjoy the swimming pool before we were brought back to Cape Town. A nice end to the day was also a wine tasting with goat cheese at the Fairview Wine Estate in the Stellenbosch area.

Misleading pics and info. Over priced for a substandard experience. - The website and marketing are very misleading as it’s more of a glorified zoo. There’s no big 5, as they are missing a leopard. Only two giraffes and three male elephants on the farm. The saddest part was the malnourished lion that’s on his death bed, they apparently have more but it’s hidden in the mountains. The lions are also kept separate from the wildlife and are fed by the rangers as they are rescued lions and can’t hunt in the wild. All in all a very lack lustre experience and a total rip off for the price charged. A real pity for the international tourists who expect to see Africa at its finest but actually get a budget safari at absorbent rates.
