We also have vegan and vegetarian options. These are the best selling dishes at Pahari African Restaurant, loved by many.\n\nEach person will have an opportunity to contribute. We will then go on to enjoying the meal together, communally, as it is typically done in an African home.\nThe experience will conclude with an African hot beverage (tea or coffee).

Outstanding African cooking class with A+ hosts - This cooking class with Florence, Caleb, and Rose was OUTSTANDING. We loved every second of it--everyone was incredibly inviting and hospitable. Caleb taught us so much, about the origins of African cuisine, different grains and legumes that are used, the traditions tied to each dish. Florence and Rose showed us how to prepare all of the dishes, and were so kind and encouraging. We made several different dishes and the meal was DELICIOUS--incredibly flavorful. The experience was well-organized, thoughtful, and intentional. We felt like we were cooking and eating with family. (In fact I mentioned to Caleb at the end of the class that he reminded me of my grandpa.) Cannot recommend highly enough. 11 out of 10!

A wonderful evening of food and friendship - This was a wonderful experience. Florence and Caleb were terrific hosts - we literally started as strangers and left as friends!
Caleb shared the history and origins of African food while Florence ushered us thru the cooking process. We had a few starters that were very unique and interesting before moving onto the main dishes which included two different meat servings, two vegetables and two starches.
You will not leave hungry!
If you truly want to immerse yourself for an evening in African Culture, I can think of no better place to start!

Just do it! - I had an absolutely amazing time in this cooking class, and if you're considering it, I highly recommend that you go! The experience was fantastic, the husband-and-wife led class was super informative, and the food was delicious! I'm so glad I did it!

Lovely cookingworkshop - We had a lovely cooking workshop with two lovely people. We had so much fun and learned a lot about the south-african food. The food was delicious. We would really recommend this place.

It offered everything we liked to have fulfilling meal - Yes it was wonderful. We did not know what expect. But it got to the orgins of African food and this allows to do cooking demos back home.

Cooking Class - This cooking class was one of the highlights of my trip. It ended up being just the two of us, and instead of feeling awkward, it made the experience even better. They welcomed us like family from the moment we arrived. We didn’t just cook …we laughed, learned about the culture, and shared stories. After cooking, we all sat down and ate together like a true family meal. The food was delicious and made with love, but the warmth and hospitality is what truly made this unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Amazing food and hospitality! - The experience was such a memorable and informative experience! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed and introduced to the vibrant culture behind each dish. The staff took the time to explain the origins, ingredients, and traditions tied to the meals — I learned so much about the stories and regional variations that make African cuisine so rich and diverse.
I left feeling full, inspired, and eager to explore even more dishes next time. I would definitely love to come back — not just for the amazing food, but for the warm hospitality and cultural insight that made this visit truly special!

Amazing, useful, delicious - I thank the team at this restaurant for an amazing experience! It was my first time trying African cuisine, and I'm so happy it happened this way. I loved the atmosphere, the way everything was organized, the taste of the food, and the wealth of knowledge I gained! I recommend it to everyone!

Authentic Cooking Class - This was the BEST experience ever!! Learning about the history and culture, as well as trying all the different foods (and insects) that I never would've tried in the US was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this experience when visiting Cape Town
