Laid-back but still interactive great cultural activity - Mr. Caleb and Mrs. Florence were the absolute best hosts! As for the class, you get to finish previously prepared ingredients, to save up some time and I think that is best to enjoy the company, the talks, meeting other people from other countries and, especially, the food! The starters experience was very enjoyable (I had never tried termites before and found them great) and the main courses were all delicious. Definitely do this activity if you want a laid-back but still interactive cultural activity in Cape Town.

Must-do Activity!! - I stayed in Cape Town for a week, this was by far my favourite activity! Such a personal, educational and warm experience. Not only did we cook, we ate together and learned history about the foods we were cooking. Caleb and Florence were great hosts, there was not a single awkward moment. Would highly recommend for solo travellers and anyone else that would like to experience southern African food!!

Totally enjoyable. They... - Totally enjoyable. They taught us about the history of African cooking and the particular meals we were going to make. It was well organized. My Uber driver knew the restaurant and recommended it.

The BEST Cooking Class - Florence and Caleb provided the very best cooking and eating experience for our group! To start with the food was absolutely delicious. But even more than that was the explanation behind the tradition of the foods served and cooked. And sitting down to a meal with Florence and Caleb felt like sitting with your favorite family member - we felt that we could’ve chatted with them forever! 100% would recommend this class to anyone visiting Cape Town.

Beat cooking class - Loved this class! We got to know Florence & Caleb and their history with cooking traditional African foods, sample some unusual regional ingredients, and make a traditional meal before enjoying it with them. Planning to come back to their restaurant on our return through Cape Town.

Highly Recommend Taking This Cooking Class! - My friend and I had a great time cooking with Florence, Caleb, and Merci. They gave us background on their resturant and the cooking classes. They introduced us to some of the starters and ingredients usually served at their resturant and their significance. Then we went to cooking a couple of delicious dishes for dinner. Some things were already prepped for time but there were still aspects set for the class to cook, which worked out great. We had great conversation with Florence and Caleb. They were very welcoming and kind! Highly recommend going.

A unique highlight - As tourists, one rarely has the opportunity to sit down to a meal with locals. While the food was delicious and preparing dishes fun, the best part was interacting with people we are not “just” our servers, clerks, or reception. I am not sure we can get the exact ingredients or maybe even will ever cook the dishes, but we learned a lot about the food of Africa.

Amazing African Cooking Class with Kaleb and Florence! - Just got back from an awesome African cooking class in Pahari, Cape Town, and I can't recommend it enough! Kaleb and Florence, the owners, made me feel right at home from the moment I stepped in. They were super friendly and really knew their stuff about African cooking. What stood out the most was how fresh all the ingredients were. We got to work with a bunch of colorful veggies and juicy meats, and everything was locally sourced. The flavors were incredible and made the dishes so much fun to prepare! Kaleb and Florence weren't just teachers—they felt like friends sharing their love for food. They threw in cool stories and cultural tidbits that made the whole experience even better. It felt like we were all just hanging out and cooking together, which was a blast. If you’re in Cape Town, do yourself a favor and check out this cooking class with Kaleb and Florence. It’s a fun way to dive into African cuisine and make some delicious memories!
