- Langa Heritage / Dompas Museum - We visit the Langa Dompas Museum, located in the heart of Langa, which offers visitors a poignant tribute to the heroes and victims of apartheid. This historical gem was established to commemorate the township’s centenary. The once-infamous offices of the Bantu Affairs Administration now serve as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and an important reminder of the past. We also visit the Langa Old Flats, built in 1944 as single-sex hostels for migrant workers, now inhabited by families. Langa Hostels, originally built for men during the apartheid era, now shelter many families, sometimes three in one house.
- Guga S’thebe - Our next stop will be Guga S’Thebe Arts and Cultural Centre in Langa Township, which offers:
- Arts and culture training: The centre provides training in various art forms, such as metalwork, pottery, dance, arts and crafts, traditional dancing, choir training, music, and poetry.

Fantastic tour in Langa - The tour in Langa was very interesting and exciting. The guide grew up there and she also took us to different places to get to know the culture and history better. In the beginning we got a very nice introduction and could ask many questions.
I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of South Africa.

Eye opener and a must do in Cape Town - I knew we has to see beyond the glitz and glamour that Cape Town has to offer and this was the right experience to showcase the other side. Although it was a moving experience it was also hopeful when u hear and see what's happening on the grass roots level. Well paced with excellent guide Windali to guide us through the Langa Township, I would recommend this to anyone visiting Cape Town

Unforgettable experience - This was probably the hardest but also the best experience I’ve had in Cape Town. The tour was very authentic, honest and somehow beautiful.

Real experience - Cape Town is a wonderful tourist destination and we tend to see only some touristic sights. However, this is also a place where important part of South African history has been formed. Kazi explained me Langa’s history while showing buildings which dates from 1920s to apartheid era. We can study history of apartheid by a history book but it is also very important to see and feel what it was in the places where it took place. Kazi is an excellent guide with a solid knowledge about history of Langa and that of South Africa. I recommend her.

A Profound and Eye-Opening Experience – Thanks to Chippa - Taking a guided tour through Langa Township in Cape Town was one of the most impactful experiences of my trip. Our guide, Chippa, who lives here, shared his deep knowledge and personal stories with an honesty and warmth that made this tour unforgettable. His explanations were insightful, filled with historical context, but also with the real, everyday struggles and resilience of the people of Langa.
Walking through the township, I was deeply moved by the reality of life here. The poverty and lack of basic infrastructure are shocking, and it is disgraceful that the government does so little to improve conditions. And yet, amidst these hardships, there is an undeniable spirit of hope. The community is strong, people support one another, and there are incredible initiatives driven by the residents themselves.
This tour was not just an educational experience—it was emotional, thought-provoking, and, above all, a wake-up call. If you're visiting Cape Town, I highly recommend taking this tour with Chippa. It’s an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.

Township tour - If you are interested in seeing the city of Cape Town from a different perspective, this tour is for you. Our tour guide was Wandile . A quick drive out to the township of Langa, a tour of some of the new businesses in the area plus a walk through some of the different neighbourhoods in Langa. Be prepared to bring some cash for the donation boxes along the way. I would recommend this tour for people with an open mind.

This tour is a MUST ! - This tour is a must, when you are in Capetown and want to see the whole picture. We booked this tour , because we wanted to see the other reality of Capetown, away from the shiny, touristy areas and also to support the black community. We weren't sure in the beginning if it was ethnical ok or would feel invasive to the locals. We were in fact very welcome , Chippa, our guide also took us to a church service , as we booked on a sunday, WHAT a church service that was -- with fantastic singers and musicians. I can only recommend this tour , it surely opened my eyes and melted my heart. Also, you support the township and help to improve the situation of the citizens. Not a second I felt unsafe. The opposite. Thank you Chippa!

5 of 5 would highly recommend - Wandile was great from the moment he picked us up. The drive to the Township was full of conversation about the history of Cape Town and the Township. We knew from that the tour would be good. We felt comfortable asking lots of questions. Wandile was a great guide. Knowing he was from the Township made his perspective more relevant. We took plenty of photos, talked to locals working on revitalizing the community, and saw the homes of the professionals who moved back to the community to support it. Wandile did a great job. 5 of 5. Would highly recommend.

Great tour with really authentic and eye opening insights into township life - The tour was a super interesting experience! Chippa gave us a really nice insight into the background of Langa and showed us the community how it is today. This was an eye opening experience to us and we appreciate the openness and kindness of the community and would recommend everyone to do this tour!
