Constantia Wine Walk with Matt - Lovely and informative day in the vineyards with Matt who is a great story-teller. Having lived in the valley for 30 years it was very interesting to learn not only a lot of the history in the area but South African history too. The walk is spectacular, passing through vineyards and farms one would not normally be allowed to. Then the wine tasting at 3 of the top Constantia farms, great snacks, and ending up with a fabulous lunch platter. I would highly recommend this tour.

Highly recommend - what a lovely way to spend a day! - What a lovely way to spend a day! My dear friend and I spent the morning with Matt on his fabulous wine walk. Matt's knowledge of the area and its rich history was brought to life in a relaxed and enjoyable way. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would strongly recommend it, the wine tastings along the way and lunch were delicious.

Sweet, luscious and excellent - This day was such a surprise and we loved every second of it. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. I think I learnt more about SA history in four hours with Matt than in 6 years of school. Matt is a funny, informed, relaxed host; the landscape is beautiful, the wine delicious; and an ideal way to celebrate a birthday. Whether you are new to Cape Town or have lived here for years this is a wonderful way to celebrate the Cape and beauty of the wine farms - not forgetting the wine tasting along the way.

Super day with Friends in Constantia - What a great experience, Matt was interesting and knowledgeable we learned so much of the history of Constantia & the Cape. Lots of goodies (wine MCC & pastry’s)on the way to keep us going and interesting stories too, finished off with a super lunch and tasting at Buitenverwachting. A Must Do for visitors and locals alike, highly recommended. A sweet, agreeable and luscious day!

Matt Knows All the Good Bits - What a fun, educational, and boozy walk! Matt really knows his wine and history and makes it all very entertaining. It's clear he enjoys sharing the juicy, tragic, and heroic exploits of the early Cape settlers as much as we all enjoyed listening. Highly recommended!

Best day out in the winelands - The wine walk through Constantia Vineyards, led by storyteller Matt, offers a great experience of history and wine, all rolled into one. Matt, a raconteur of note, weaves the stories of strong women and fascinating ancestors who shaped the area's legacy, into the beautiful landscape of Constantia. A gentle walk, with frequent stops for wine tasting and snacks (finishing off with a delicious platter lunch at Buitenverwachting) makes for an awesome couple of hours in the winelands. It's so much more than just a wine tasting or a walk; it's an immersive historical saga, where the legacy of adventurous, sometimes scandalous ancestors lingers even longer than the delicious wine. Beyond expectation, with a 'touche de classe' - Way exceeds expectations of the average wine walk! This walk/tour blew me and our overseas guests away; not only was the selected route "sweet, agreeable and luscious" but Matt, our guide, had a phenomenal and really interesting grasp of the history of Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, right through to Buitenverwagting and more. As it's name promises, it was 'beyond expectation'. Matt is naturally gifted in the art of storytelling and had us all spellbound with interesting tips about the history of the origins of Constantia wine (and its history of colourful winemakers) at various stopping points. Matt was an incredible guide and the wine tastings surpassed any I've had before. (Note: On special request, Matt catered for a kid-friendly option for under-agers to join in the fun, snack packs and yummy treats). YOU SIMPLY HAVE TO DO THIS WALK!
