Great experience - This was a really great experience for us. It was truly a small group tour, which made it so enjoyable. We tried great wines. The lunch was delicious. The wine and cheese pairing was our favorite tasting. We had an amazing guide who was knowledgeable, gregarious, friendly and welcoming. It is a great value! We definitely recommend it

Family visit and wine tastings at four Stellenbosch Vineyards. - Our tour guide Alethea, was great and looked after our family group of 10 fantastically well. We were collected from our accommodation in Franshhoek in a comfortable minibus and given an informative guided tour and tastings at four different vineyards around the Stellenbosch region, before being dropped back to our accommodation. At each vineyard we were treated to a warm welcome, with informative information on the wines and a fantastic selection of wine tastings and food pairings. A very enjoyable day out.

Wine Flies will show you a great time. - If you're reading this review in search of a tour operator for a trip to South Africa's main wine regions, you're in luck because you've found the company you'll be booking with. :) My wife and I booked a custom private tour with Wine Flies July of 2024 and it was nothing short of stellar. Everything from the communication, the booking process and of course, to the tour itself was a seamless, first-class experience. They can also make things happen pretty quickly as we only found Wine Flies two days before we wanted to visit some farms. We sent an email inquiry and a representative of the company Natasha quickly responded. After a quick email exchange, she sent over a payment link to book and confirm our tour. We're fairly well-versed in wine and had a list of wineries we wanted to check out and the team was entirely accommodating to this. That said, they make wine approachable for folks of all experience levels so you'll even if it's your first time going wine tasting, you'll definitely be comfortable. They have relationships with virtually all the wine farms so if you don't have a strong preference as to which farms you visit, you can simply leave it up to Wine Flies, and they'll plan your itinerary. They are well versed in wine farms in Franschhoek, Stellenbosch Swaartland, Paarl, and Constantia, so you're likely covered wherever you want to go. You will be in great hands. We ended up visiting 4 or 5 wine farms between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch from about 9:30 - 5:00pm. Lunch was included in our tour, as were the tastings, and of course transportation (pickup from your hotel) so you'll need to only pay additionally for any wine you purchase, or any extra food you order. I have to give a special shoutout to my guy, Julian, our tour guide for the day. He was extremely knowledgable, jovial, down-to-earth, and made the experience a great one. If you're lucky enough to book him, you'll be in for a treat! In short, I highly recommend Wine Flies for your SA wine excursions.

Excellent day out - Really excellent trip - we got to go to 4 very different wineries and got a great overview of wine making in South Africa. Our guide, Julian, was funny and knowledgeable. They were really helpful and catered for both the vegan and gluten free members of our group. I would throughly recommend this tour.

Intimate, Soulful and Effortless - It was a phenomenal experience. Each and every Wine farm we visited had it's own special ambience. From sabering champagne, to learning about the wine making process straight from the wine makers. Getting to hear the soulful voice of Thandi, one of the workers at Middelvlei, the amusing farm animals and of course the delicious braai and snacks. Our guide was amazing. Althea made us all feel at home as soon as we met. If I could put the wine flies tour experience in three words I would say Intimate, Soulful and Effortless. Vanessa🧡

Booking was overlooked & car broke down BUT the Tour Guide was EXCELLENT - We booked this tour through BazBus. Our tour was overlooked by the tour operator that they had to arranged a tour guide at the last minute. It is unacceptable that the tour booking can be overlooked even though the manager, Ms Natasha explained that it was due to technical glitch. After waited for 1-2 hours, our tour guide (Mr Yaz) finally arrived. The guide was exceptionally good, fun and knowledgeable about wine. We had wonderful time with the tour guide. Unfortunately, the car suddenly broke down after we visited the second vineyard. The rest of the tour we had to take UBER arranged by the tour guide. The reason we rate 3-star because the tour was overlooked, followed by the breakdown of the car which affected the overall experience. However, the tour guide service was definitely a 5-star rating. The Tour Manager, Ms Natasha did offer us service recovery with a bottle of wine which we appreciated the gesture. Having said that, what we expect is an enjoyable tour without hiccups rather than a free bottle of wine. We hope the company will improve on the area for improvement.
