- Muizenberg Beach - As we pass through Muizenberg Beach, you’ll see the stretch of charming, colorful beach huts in the distance. These huts resemble the “bathing machines” of the 1800s—a cart-like structure that was wheeled to the water’s edge, allowing ladies to change into their chin-to-ankle bathing wear and enjoy the shallow waters. Today, the beach huts serve as changing rooms for sunbathers and surfers alike.
- St James Beach - Similar to Muizenberg, the beach huts at St. James Beach are also used by sunbathers as changing rooms. We’ll stop here for a few minutes so you can take some fun photos with these colorful huts before we continue to Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony.
- Kalk Bay Harbour - We’ll drive past Kalk Bay Harbour, which feels more like a fishing village, with fishing boats docking and fish traders showcasing their catch. Fresh fish is available for purchase daily. The sights, smells, and refreshing sea air are truly spectacular.
- Fish Hoek Beach - As we pass through Fish Hoek Beach, you’ll notice the warm Indian Ocean waters that flow into the False Bay area, making Fish Hoek a popular beach for swimming and sunbathing on its long stretches of warm, white sand.
- Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - We’ll stop at Boulder’s Beach to visit the African Penguin colony. Boulder’s Beach is one of the best beaches in Cape Town for swimming and sunbathing. While close encounters with the African penguins are possible, they are not guaranteed. We’ll take a walk along the boardwalk to the official penguin colony location to see them in their natural habitat. The colony is home to approximately 3,000 African Penguins who spend their days frolicking in the False Bay waters, basking in the sun, and parading on the granite boulders.
- Cape of Good Hope - After our visit with the charming African Penguins, we’ll head to the highlight of the day: The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve. No visit to Cape Town is complete without a photo behind the Cape of Good Hope name board. We’ll explore the nature reserve while the tour guide shares historical stories about the Bartholomew Dias and Vasco Da Gama beacons. The Cape of Good Hope is home to a variety of fauna and flora, including fynbos (fine bush), over 250 species of birds, ostriches, buck, baboons, and the Cape mountain zebra. We advise guests to be vigilant and not get too close to the wild animals, as they can become aggressive. No close contact or feeding is allowed.
- Old Cape Point Lighthouse - After exploring the Cape of Good Hope, we’ll drive to Cape Point, where visitors can take a short hike up to the Cape Point lighthouse or opt for the Flying Dutchman Funicular (additional charge at own expense). Many believe that Cape Point is the meeting point of the Two Oceans. However, it is actually the official meeting point of the two ocean currents: the cold Benguela and the warm Agulhas currents. The Cape Point lighthouse is the most powerful on the South African coast.
- Chapman’s Peak Drive - If operational, we’ll drive through Chapman’s Peak Drive, one of the most scenic routes in the world. We’ll stop for a few minutes at the viewpoint to take some photos.
- Cape Town Central - Upon our return to Cape Town, visitors will be dropped off at the same pick-up point where they were collected in the morning.
- Hotel pickup and drop-off in Cape Town or at CTICC entrance 1.
- Complimentary bottled water in vehicle.
- Shared tour guide/driver, including vehicle and fuel.
