Great Capeflat experience!! - This trip was a fantastic experience and turned out to be much better than expected. We felt safe the entire time and both of the expert guides, Tchobella (apology if misspelled!) and Wanda, were so passionate and knowledgeable about the “real side” of the history and current times of the townships! The whole trip lasted 4hrs and included two drive throughs of the bigger townships and then a walking tour through langa, which was very insightful as we were welcomed warmly by the locals. Thanks a lot and we would totally recommend this trip.

Mandatory tour if you want to really get to know Cape Town!! - One of the best tours I took during my stay in Cape Town! Getting to know more about the culture and true history of the city was, without a doubt, an enriching experience. Tourism ends up being concentrated in regions like Camps Bay, Sea Point... but getting to know some Townships is just as important. On top of everything, the guides were extremely attentive, friendly and made the tour much more incredible. Lots of learning and knowledge about Langa acquired from local guides.

Recommend the township tour! Support the community - We did the township tour and I would 100% recommend it to anyone! You spend time in the township and learn a lot, get a peek into the daily life with a guide that lives there and shows you around. It’s a safe experience which explains how it is to grow up and live there, some political background and a local beer tasting. The tour guide Wanda was very knowledgeable, I recommend tourists to tip after the trip and buy a souvenir from the local shop, their life is hard enough as it is. Great experience, I hope they get a lot more visitors and that their situation improves (you support by visiting with this local organization!)

Very Interesting - A chance to see the Africa not on the safari circuit. It gives a glimpse into lives of the majority of South Africans and the hardships they endure. Our guides were very informative. We went on short walking tours in the safer areas. Well worth it

Highly advisable tour for everyone who wants to experience real Cape Town! - We did this tour on the first day of our arrival. It was indeed the best tour to start our holidat with. In fact, the tour is really authentic and shows the life of people in Cape Town. It was just the two of us with the driver. We were lucky to go on Sunday and in return, we got a private tour with our guides. First, we went to Langa, where a local guide met us. He told us a lot of interesting facts, helped us in getting to know the culture, cuisine and history. Indeed, it is an eye-opening exoerience that allow you to look through the real life of capetownians. Afterwards we went to Gugulethu, where our driver was from. He showed us around and even brought us to spinning, where all of the locals were in! It was a fantastuc experience: the sense of community is immense. And the main thing, the locals are really helpful, welcoming, and really proud of their home! It is really enjoyable to be around them and learn more about their life! And, last but not least, there are a lot of things written around about safety. At no point we felt unsafe. People are really warm and welcoming. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet the locals in their usual atmosphere. I strongly advise to go for this tour to experience real Cape Town!

Amazing Townships Tour / meaningful experience - Best and most meaningful experience in SA was that Townships Tour. The guides gave us so many insights about the life of people, culture, history and politics. It wasn’t intrusive (as I was afraid it could be). On the contrary, people appreciated to share with us.

Great, authentic experience - This was an amazing tour. It said it was "authentic" and I thought, "I doubt it, but I'll give it a try." Our guide, Tobiah, was engaging and informative. We went to a small museum that illustrated the pass laws. We drove by some townships. Then we stopped and walked around in one. Tobiah knew everybody. We felt completely safe. It was our favorite experience while on a 3 week trip to South Africa. It was sad that people live that way. But moving and informative.

Township Tour to balance beautiful Cape Town - Cape Town is stunning and full of beautiful people, beautiful food. I felt uncomfortable I wasn't seeing the flip side so booked up this tour. I was very fortunate (not for them) to be the only person. Thobela and Buntu were marvellous, passionate, well read, and made it an exceptional experience. TOP TIPS - take $50 notes to buy a coffee, pay for beer, tips etc and take small bags of sweets for the children, if you feel comfortable. You'll also have the opportunity to buy some goods supporting a youth group. However, this is mostly a real experience of the Townships with people who live, know and understand them and their history. Frankly I came away a little exhausted emotionally with a lot to process. No complaints. I did drink the locally brewed beer, its fine. While leaving this review I must make a call out for the fabulous Nyami in the office (by the Aquarium) her smile and knowledge is welcoming, extensive and just wonderful. Loved her.

not recommended - The information by the guide were interesting but quite superficial. If you do this tour, don't go alone. The guide was hitting on me which is beyond unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable.
