- Touwsrivier - Located 2 hours north of Cape Town, Aquila is the city’s nearest and most renowned wildlife game reserve. Spanning a 10,000-hectare farm, Aquila represents the best chance for the Big Five to once again roam the Western Cape after over 400 years of extinction. As with any wildlife rehabilitation center, the reserve is not entirely wild; animals are partially fed, and predators are kept separate from other animals. Guests have the unique opportunity to ride horses through a reserve teeming with rhinos, hippos, buffalos, and more. The horse ride lasts about one to two hours. Following the horse safari, guests are treated to a buffet lunch before departing Aquila Safari for a wine tasting in Paarl.
- Fairview Wine and Cheese - Situated in the Paarl wine-making region of the Cape Winelands, Fairview is just 25 minutes northeast of Stellenbosch and 5 minutes east of the N1. Fairview offers Cape Town’s most famous cheese and wine pairing experience, which you can enjoy before returning to Cape Town, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

There is no better way to encounter wildlife than on a horseback. The horses know their routine and thus making it possible for first time horse riders to take part in this amazing activity. A private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Cape town and you will head straight to Aquila Game reserve through the hugenote tunnel and passing through the wine growing regions of Worcester and De doorns. Upon arrival at Aquila, you will be served with welcoming drinks and ushered to the restaurants where you will have your world class buffet breakfast. Your horseback safari will commence shortly after breakfast and afterwards you will be served with a buffet lunch before we leave Aquila for your wine tasting in the Paarl wine region. After the wine and cheese pairing at Fairview, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Cape town to complete your horse back safari and wine tasting day.
