Guests will be picked up from their centrally located hotel at 6:30 am and taken to the base of Table Mountain. Here, the guide will provide a safety briefing and an overview of the hike. This exciting trail begins with a gentle incline for the first 30 minutes. It is named after India Ravine, due to its resemblance to the shape of India on a map when viewed from the city below, and Venster, a natural rock window that hikers will reach in the first half of the hike, offering views of Devil’s Peak. Although the city is visible from most parts of the hike, it often feels like a peaceful escape from the urban hustle and bustle. The upper section of the route circles the Atlantic Ocean side of the mountain, providing views of the backside of Table Mountain as well. This hike is not recommended for those with a fear of heights or discomfort in exposed areas, as it involves some rock scrambling, requiring the use of upper body strength and both arms and legs. During these sections, the guide will instruct hikers on where to place their hands and feet, making the challenge more manageable. Upon reaching the summit, the descent will be via the Cableway, weather permitting (not included).
