On our trips departing from Quay 5 in the Waterfront, you will have a chance to see Cape Fur Seals, Dolphins, Whales, Penguins and Sun Fish and potentially much more as we search the bay for sea life.

We Do do not offer or guarantee a destination as this trip is about time on the water and looking for sea life in the proximity of Cape Town.

Amazing time - We had an amazing time, so much so we went again, I can recommend this enough. We had a lovely time and got lucky enough to see seals, dolphins and on our second round, we managed to brave the chappy water with a skill guide to find the beautiful whale.

Fantastic Ocean Safari!! - I’ve already done this twice and I plan to go again while in Cape Town!! It’s a perfect, quick activity and SOO much fun!! Both times we saw seals, penguins, lots of jelly fish, and dolphins!! One time I got really lucky and even saw some whales!! It’s so incredible to see wildlife in their natural environment and never know exactly what you’re going to see!! And the team at waterfront charters does an excellent job!!

Magical - An incredible sea excursion! Thrilling sensations of speed with this ultra-fast and responsive boat. Crazy jumps, not for the faint-hearted ;-) An experienced captain, highly available, and always on the lookout to make your safari unforgettable. And it was! We found ourselves at an exceptional moment: hundreds of dolphins jumping around us, accompanying a whale playing with dozens of seals!

Best time with the ocean safari - My husband and I were the only ones who ended up going with our trip but it was so so fun. Theo took us on his boat and was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. My husband is a photographer and got some beautiful shots of the dolphins we saw. I wish it had been longer than an hour, I was having a wonderful time and it went very quickly. Even if you don't see much of the ocean safari, the boat ride itself is pretty cool and enjoyable.

Incredible Trip!!! - From my first email to Graeme, to the private tour he offered, and post tour, this is a top-notch company! The communication was easy, and responses came really fast. Graeme took our group on an awesome private tour, where we saw dolphins, as well as other wildlife. We had an incredible time and can't thank Oceans Safari enough for such an amazing trip!

Great value and good fun boat ride - Great ride out to Clifton Beach and back on the rib. The ‘captain’ was pretty miserable said little other than basic safety briefing but didn’t spoil the enjoyment. Amazing views of V&A, Tabke Mountain and Lions Head and even did some Seal spotting in the harbour on way back. Good value for money but not the ‘eco tour’ advertised.

Terrible. Avoid. - Absolutely terrible. Sea was very rough and we should never have been taken out. Went out about 20m off shore. Saw 2 seals on a bouy then had to go back. One of the engines flooded so we had to chug back slowly. Organiser refused to refund us.

Unsafe experience with no follow up from management - Took the ocean safari cruise with Waterfront Charters but encountered safety issue of one motor on the boat overheating. We were left drifting around the bay with large swells over half an hour with one operating motor. We did not see any ocean animals due to this issue. The kicker was no offer of refund or rescheduled session with the operator. We are still awaiting a response from Waterfront Charters senior management. Buyer beware!
