captivating photographs tour with Greg - I am so glad that I stumbled across Greg Photography. I can’t say enough about how professional Greg is and the quality of work that he provides. I was so pleased with my day tour and final photographs, that I will continue to use him in the future. Greg is a wonderful man and truly a professional in his field. He was instantly able to put me at ease, and capture some captivating photographs. I will treasure them forever. I simply cannot recommend him enough! Thank you Greg from Chad

Go with Gregg! - My friend and I just let Gregg take the reins and we went along "for the ride". Our experineces in Africa were all amazing but the touring with Gregg was definitely our amazing highlight. I think he was worth booking just for the restaurant experineces and recommendations alone. We ate (and drank) deliciously! And he offered so much more. My friend had just gotten a new camera and we didn't even know Gregg was a photographer so it was a bonus that we both got (me with just my iphone camera) got photohgraphy lessons and gorgeous photos with our tour. He knows not only all the amazing places to see and experinece but the backgrounds, the geology, the weather, the the local history and culture, pretty much all there is to know. Ask him to take you to that coffee shop (wish I could remember the name) that is local and so delicious. If I was booking a trip to South Africa again, I would skip the group tour (that was also really good) and just go with Gregg for the whole trip!

Fantastic! - Our family did 2 full day photography tours with Greg, the Pennisula tour and also the Cape Winelands. Greg planned the timing perfectly for getting the best out of each location and also avoiding long queues. He is very knowledgeable and good company, along the way he gave a commentary on points of interest and insights into life in South Africa, all in a relaxed manner. He was also happy to alter the itinerary based on our preferences. Greg gave great photography advice and was patient with my husband who had brought 3 cameras!

Highly recommended - Had a lovely morning walk/tour with Greg. Very knowledgable, happy to share his insights, easygoing and good company. Booking a tour with Capture Capetown will give you the opportunity to have a tailored program to see places that may otherwise be difficult to get to.

Experience a trip like this and you will want to go back - I do and will! - My friend and I had a couple of days to explore Cape Town so got in touch with Greg, who, due to booked commitments asked his colleague, Eric Miller, to look after us. What a good move that turned out to be. I wanted to get to places the average tourist would not see, ie a township to see the street art. However, my friend is not a photographer so the time with Eric had to be interesting for her too. Eric nailed this part of brief perfectly. We both wanted to understand the country from someone who lives it. Relaxed from the start and engaged in what we were seeing and hearing, we all enjoyed each other's company all day. Eric found a person to take us around Salt River who knew the provenance of the street art and was member of that community - we were all so absorbed. What a find she was. We went to Pringle Bay, at Eric's suggestion, for landscape/intimate landscape/seascape images. The setting sun on the mountains was a delight. We also visited Castle of Good Hope the following morning. It became very clear that Eric had done his homework to make sure our time together was a success. He looked after us really well throughout the day. I felt safe in the townships too. Outcome - a batch of lovely images, a much better understanding of the country and, whilst coach tours have their place, time with Eric made me realise how much more one can gain out of a personalised trip like this. Excellent in all respects - thank you.

Cape Town Adventure - My partner and I spent 6 days in May 2022, with Greg Hillyard as our guide and driver. Greg definitely helped us make the most of our time in the Cape Town area. We found Greg to be very professional, highly personable and a good communicator before and during our trip. He worked with us to create an itinerary to suit our needs. Greg is a very intelligent and knowledgeable guide who took us to a wide variety of locations at the best time of day to avoid crowds and capture photos in optimum light. His local knowledge and insight led us to interesting places to eat, shop and explore which were off the beaten path. With an eye on the weather, Greg adjusted our itinerary as needed in order to maximize our sightseeing. Whether it was intimate wineries, hidden beaches, scenic viewpoints, cool cafes, obscure history, unusual parks, street art or colorful neighborhoods, Greg presented us with much to learn, enjoy and think about all the while honing our photographic skills. We are confident that we saw and learned so much more with Greg as our guide than we could have ever possibly done on our own. We would highly recommend Greg who we found to be the utmost professional.

Let Greg Make the Most of Your Photography Opportunities - My wife and I just spent 5 wonderful days photographing greater Cape Town with Greg. We had originally considered renting a car and driving ourselves, but we are so glad we turned our trip over to Greg. We are not professional photographers by any stretch, but we enjoy photographing our travels and Greg was the perfect guide. He knows where to go, what to shoot, how to shoot it and how to provide his guests the best opportunities to make the most of every location. Shooting vertically through an arch to bring the background in, finding reflections off otherwise inconsequential objects, focusing in on details that are otherwise overlooked, and waiting for a subject to do something interesting before taking a street scene are just a few of the off-hand suggestions Greg provided that turned otherwise average photos into something memorable. He also transformed my wife’s photo capabilities by helping her discover hidden capabilities of her iPhone From the V&A Wharf to Kirstenbosch Gardens, the wine country, penguins, the Cape of Good Hope, the Hermanus coastline, a Signal Hill sunrise and all points in between, Greg knows where to be when for the best photos. And from wine to gelato, he also knows all of the best and most affordable Cape Town-area eateries for snacks, lunch and dinner. Finally, in addition to all of the above, Greg is a genuinely nice and thoughtful person who is very responsive to all inquiries and emails, willing to customize your time to your needs. A nice and enjoyable professional to spend time with, be it a few hours or a few days.

Cederberg Photographic Weekend - The recent Cederberg weekend with Greg was yet another of the wonderful photographic tours organised by Greg. His careful planning and choice of locations is always very interesting and challenging. These tours have been great fun and are very informative as he generously shares his knowledge of photography, flora and fauna and the historical and geographical features of the area. Greg has a very relaxed style and a good sense of humour. He is observant and helpful and sensitive to the needs of each member of the group at the same time as keeping the group’s needs in mind. His enthusiasm is always so contagious and encouraging.
