Highlights
  • Cape Town Central - Our tour begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town and nearby areas at 9:00 am (flexible) for this private tour to the Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins colony. We start with a brief city orientation drive to view key monuments and buildings in the city center.
  • Bo-kaap - Next, we stop in Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a photo opportunity with its colorful houses, which hold significant historical value. You might even get a chance to greet some locals if they are around. Your tour guide will explain the historical importance of the colorful houses.
  • Camps Bay - We then take a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, passing through Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, and Clifton, and stopping in Camps Bay. Maiden’s Cove is an ideal spot for memorable photos with stunning views of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay beach.

This cove is one of the best places in Cape Town for panoramic photos of the ocean, Camps Bay Beach, and views of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head, and the beautiful suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay. We call this the Kodak moment.

  • Seal Island - If you choose the optional 45-minute boat trip to Seal Island, please note that this excursion is weather-dependent. Bring a light jersey as temperatures can drop at sea.
  • Hout Bay - Continuing along the Atlantic scenic seaboard, we pass through Llandudno, known for some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, until we reach Hout Bay. At Hout Bay harbor, you can either take a 45-minute boat cruise to Seal Island to see the seals or shop at the market.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - Leaving Hout Bay, we drive along Chapman’s Peak and stop at the viewpoint for breathtaking photos. It’s no wonder Chapman’s Peak is one of the most scenic routes in the world.
  • Noordhoek Farm Village - We continue our coastal journey with an optional stop in Noordhoek, offering stunning views of Noordhoek and Long Beach below. Travelers can enjoy some of the best coffee brewed in Cape Town at the Village Roast at their own expense.
  • Cape Point Vineyards Tasting Room - An optional stop for wine tasting at the beautiful Cape Point Vineyards is available. Surrounded by picturesque vineyards and ocean views, the cool sea breezes create a slow-growing season, resulting in a unique Sauvignon Blanc known worldwide for its rich minerality, structure, and tone. An optional sit-down lunch at their restaurant or a picnic lunch overlooking the man-made dam is highly recommended.
  • Cape of Good Hope - We explore the Cape of Good Hope and take an iconic photo with the Cape of Good Hope name board. We will also visit the Dias & Vasco Da Gama monuments. Along the way, you’ll see beautiful beaches and various fauna and flora.
  • Old Cape Point Lighthouse - From the Cape of Good Hope, we drive to Cape Point. Upon arrival, you can choose between a 15-minute hike or taking the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Here, we will explore the most south-western point of Africa, known as Cape Point, where the cold Benguela current from the Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean.
  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Our next stop is the Penguins colony at Boulders Beach, where your guide will escort you to the viewing point to see some of the 2500 breeding pairs of African Penguins up close. You might even spot one or two of these charming creatures walking alongside you on the boardwalk.
  • Muizenberg Beach - On our return route, we pass Muizenberg, where you will see the colorful beach huts used as changing rooms. These huts are reminiscent of the “bathing machines” of the 1800s, which were cart-like structures wheeled to the water’s edge for ladies to change into their bathing costumes.
  • Cape Town Central - Drop-off will be back at your accommodation in Cape Town at approximately 6:00 pm.

Great day down the peninsula with Gift - I had a great day exploring the beauty of the Cape peninsula with Gift. He planned the day around the areas I was most interested in and allowed me to spend as long as I wanted in the various stops. Boulders beach and Cape point took my breath away, and the drive back up the peninsula was gorgeous. I was looking for a tour that hit all the spots in the limited time I had and this was well worth the money, would definitely recommend

Great tour with a host of highlights. - Brilliant day with our guide Ray. He showed us all the highlights of the Cape. Constant stops meant we could take photographs and learn more about the places we visited. He was very knowledgeable and this allowed him to bring the places to life. We particularly enjoyed the penguins at Boulders Bay and a very nice lunch at a fish restaurant in Simonstown. Excellent day.

Fantastic day tour! - This day tour was fantastic. Tommy was my tour guide and he picked me up promptly from my hotel and we set out on a day filled with beautiful scenery and essential landmarks in the Cape Town area. Tommy was from the area and very knowledgeable about the history and significance of the areas we visited. I had an excellent time and felt like I got an impactful experience in a short amount of time, which was just what I needed. I can't wait to come back and see more of what the region has to offer.

Amazing tour! Amazing guide! - Here’s the review I’m going to post. Is it good? What an amazing day! The penguins, the cape and lighthouse, the seals, the drive, all so beautiful! But it’s the tour guide that can make it great, or not. Our guide, Papi was beyond amazing! From the minute he picked us up (on time, well dressed, clean car, great smile!) his entire day was spent on us, customizing our tour to exactly what we wanted to see and do. So knowledgeable, so caring! Request Papi for your tour, and you’ll love it!

See the Cape of Good Hope with Beyond Africa - Fiston was my tour guide for the day. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and a good driver. We visited everything on the itinerary except for Seal Island which I asked to skip. We spent the right amount of time at each stop and he stopped at a few extra places so I could take photos. I highly recommend visiting the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point and doing it with Beyond Africa is the way to do it if you don’t want to drive yourself.

Fabulous private tour - highly recommend - Had an utterly fabulous day out with Reuben last week on our private tour, just me & my 86yr old mum. Reuben was very solicitous and considerate, asking what mum could/couldn't do, and tailored the day around us, which was really appreciated. With a pick up at 9am and a drop off at 6.30pm it was a packed day, and the highlight of my week in Cape Town. Reuben is a wealth of knowledge, packing in so many facts about the history of the coastline; from the Portuguese, to the French and English..how False Bay got its name, down to the flora and fauna. He's a real credit to the organisation (not to mention it was like having my own personal photographer. I've never been in so many holiday pics.) We started in Bo-Kaap and then onto the Lions Head and 12 Apostles, Camps Bay & Houts Bay with appropriate picture taking spots along the way, down to Cape of Good Hope point and lighthouse at Cape Point Peak, breaking for lunch before stopping at Boulders Beach to see the Penguins (& a Dassie), before driving through Simons Town and seeing the Baboons. Highly recommend and worth every single penny!

A fantastic experience, well worth the money - We had a truly wonderful day with our incredibly knowledgeable driver, Reuben who was fantastic. He tailored the day to our needs, taking into consideration that my mum wasn't as mobile as me. He was so helpful & courteous, we couldn't have asked for a better day. Highlight of our week long stay & highly recommend
