Day trip to Cape Point - We did the cape point day trip on a terrible day rain and gusty winds. Our driver and guide James was fantastic. He catered to our every need. He had wet weather ponchos for us and on a number of occasions stood in the rain himself to assist us. His knowledge and professionalism was second to none. Thanks mate for a great day.

A great way to see the Peninsula - I originally had booked the half day tour, but at I was the only one that tour didn’t happen. They offered the full day tour without a surcharge instead.
The day tour is amazing and I think I would have missed out on a lot of things on the half day tour. Egon was entertaining and a very knowledgeable guide.

Recommend - This was a second tour with Jarat and its wonderful guide Alistair, and we had another amazing day. The charming coastal drive and gourgeous bays along the way, Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, African penguin colony, and a wonderful lunch at Blue Merlyn overlooking the ocean left precious memories to be cherished forever. The only regret is that during both of our tours, we did not make it to Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens because we did not want to rash through every place. We saw a large family of baboons (about 40) walking along the road, and a rare young male Hartebeest on a short detour from the prescribed path taken by Alastair in the Nature Reserve. Once again, Alistair’s knowledge and inside on the culture, history, ecology, politics, and his personal experience surviving apartheid made the trip even more special. If booking a private tour, I would recommend requesting a van or an SUV, so the person sitting in the backset has greater visibility. We had a sedan.

Long but rewarding day, with a wonderful guide - The full-day trip to Cape Point was great value for money, as it lasted almost 10 hours and was a varied and interesting day. The scenery was spectacular, and we had enough time at each location to see and do what was necessary, from taking photos and climbing up to Cape Point lighthouse, to viewing the penguins and exploring some of Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Our guide, Letitia, was very informative and went out of her way to answer all our questions and accommodate all our needs. Nothing was too much trouble, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her again for a wonderful day.
P.s. While I chose not to go on the trip to Seal Island, I felt perfectly happy wandering around Hout Bay and having a coffee while waiting for the others to return.

Hot day but good tour. - Very interesting tour as history comes alive when you visit places like Cape Point. The guide was very informative. I bypassed to trip to an island to view seals and enjoyed a good coffee at local cafe. a local person had seals performing by the wharf which was fun. Cost a few rand as a tip.

Pretty much a waste of money and time... -
Pretty much a waste of money and time. You pay this tour to simply drive you to a bunch of places where you then have to pay more money to get in. The tour fee only includes entrance to the botanical gardens that we only got to stay at for 30 minutes. Would have been more affordable and more efficient to just hire a driver to take you to Cape Point. While our driver spouted off some key points as we drove, he never actually accompanied us to any sights. He just stayed in the car. First of all, the booking said we would be picked up between 8-8:30AM. We emailed the company to confirm our pick up location and they responded, adding that our specific pick up time would be between 8-8:20AM. After waiting nearly an hour in 39 degree weather Fahrenheit, we were tired from standing, were very very cold, and were very hungry. There was no answer when we called the customer service line and no answer to our emails. We had walked all the way down the block to get some hot coffee and hot breakfast when a van pulls over and tells us to get in. Skeptical, as we were now far from our pick up location so how the heck would he know who we were or that we were waiting for a tour, we questioned the driver over and over who simply repeated his name over and over rather than answering our question, which was What tour is this? Do you have a list with our names on it?. Finally the other passengers answered, confirming that this was the Cape Point tour and they pointed to a roster with our names on it. Clearly annoyed, we stated that he was very very late and that we'd been waiting for nearly an hour and had given up on this tour. He simply laughed and said This is South Africa. We run on African time with no apology. After that we were dumped at a beach/look out point where our tour guide literally got in the van and drove away, leaving us. He said he'd be back in 10 minutes, 30 minutes later he finally returned. We then drove to Hout Bay where you either paid to get on a boat to see some seals or you had to wonder around a parking lot constantly being accosted by beggars and people selling over priced trinkets for an hour. We then went to another beach where the only purpose was to take more pictures.....Cape Town beaches are GORGEOUS, but there are only so many pictures one can take of a beach and water and we had already taken plenty. After that we were taken to see the penguins, where again you had to pay to see them. We then headed to the Cape of Good Hope, took more pictures, and headed up to the lighthouse. By this time it was around 2pm and we hadn't stopped yet to eat lunch because we were given the choice of eating by the penguins or eating at the Two Oceans Restaurant at the base of the Cape Point lighthouse. Our tourmates looked up the restaurant and it boasted some STUNNING views, so we collectively decided to wait and eat there. Upon arrival our driver told us that we only had an hour at this location. We questioned whether this would be enough time to eat at the restaurant AND climb up to the light house. He responded Oh, if you want to eat at the restaurant I have to call them and make a reservation for you and the restaurant usually takes more than hour. FACE. IN. PALM. Would have been nice of him to have mentioned and considered that earlier. So we all had to settle for take away where the only seating options to enjoy our food were out in the open. The baboons were out that day and they are FEARLESS. They see food and they will not hesitate to forcibly snatch it from you. Its rather entertaining to watch them steal food from others when there's no threat to you, but its terrifying when you're desperately trying to get something in your stomach and constantly having to look over your shoulder and every which way to ensure a baboon is not about to attack you. Sounds crazy, but the birds are just as fearless too! Not a fun experience. Actual Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope are worth every second you are there. The views will leave you breathless. We definitely did not get enough time at this location. A long drive later we finally made it to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. This stop was actually included in the tour fee, but we were only given 30 minutes to explore. 30 minutes isn't even enough time to enjoy the entrance! I've been to many botanical gardens in my life, but none like this place! Words will never express how utterly disappointing it was that we were given the least amount of time to enjoy one of the best stops on this tour. To sum it up, save your money, save your time. Don't take this tour.
