A very emotional excursion - Our driver Josef arrived at our home address exactly on time. What a nice and friendly gentleman! We had really good conversations during our drives there and back. On arrival at the ferry terminal he put us in the right queue- our tickets had already been sent to us by WhatsApp. The travel by boat was well organised and smooth. On arrival at Robben Island we were allocated to a large bus which took us round the island. Our guide on the bus told us about life on the island through the centuries and in more detail about more recent times…. He was so knowledgeable and gave us a really good insight. After the little bus tour we went to see the high security prison block where Nelson Mandela amongst other important freedom fighters was incarcerated. This tour was guided by a former prisoner, who told us about daily life in this prison. To be able to get a first hand account from a former prisoner was amazing and powerful. So overall, this excursion was amazing in the detail and also in the depth of feeling it created in me. I can’t say it was “fun”, it left me very sad pondering how mankind can be so cruel to each other. But it was a very necessary visit, one that everybody should do while witnesses to this time are still alive.

Very impressive - A must do when you're in Capetown. It was awesome, very impressive and very educational. The guide on the island is an ex prisoner and his story gave me goosebumps and tears in my eyes.

Just brilliant - Excellent tour, Joseph met me at the clock tower, gave me the ticket, outlined the day and showed me to the correct place to board. The trip to Robben Island was excellent, the guide was an ex-inmate, his stories were fascinating, emotive and have a real insight into the history and conditions of the prison. Well worth it (and the views of cape town from the boat will stay with me forever)

Great Experience!! - Very professional, knowledgeable and personable. Joseph goes above and beyond for his guests. He is not time conscious and ensured that we enjoyed the sites and experiences. We did the Cape Point/Cape of Good making a few stops along the way for pics etc. Hope tour and had a wonderful day, we had lunch at the restaurant at Good Hope, think it is called 2 Oceans, food, service and views, all 10/10.. if you are in Capetown use Joseph, you won’t regret it.

Robben Island Tour - The tour was great. So much was learnt of the South African history during the Apartheid. The start of the revolution against segregation and the South African activists who fought for justice for black Africans. It was an enlightening and rewarding experience.
