Excellent - Tour operator HYM Cape Tours kept us well informed, replied immediately to email questions, driver pickup at hotel was on-time and met us promptly on return. I’ve used Viator before, excellent service, highly recommend.

Great Tour, wish it was longer - We loved this tour. Our guide was very good, able to offer his personal perspective having been a prisoner at Robben Island. My only criticism is the length of the tour. There was so much to read and absorb, I wish we could have lingered at the prison longer and spent less time riding around the island. A special thank you to Joseph who worked really hard to make sure we didn’t miss the boat after a communications mix up. He was kind and professional throughout what was a stressful situation for him and us.

Educational and informative! - Educational and thought provoking tour by previous inmates that where held captive. Boat trip is approx 45 mins to the island, bus tour around the island and then in the prison. 8am for us to 1pm and well worth a visit.

Unity of a Nation - Wow just so inspiring engaging with a political prisoner. Very educational and encouraging to know through dialect many problems can be solved. We are so in awe of the way South Africa has become one nation without anger and animosity to the past. Australia can learn very much from the South African people in finding unity as a nation.

Easy way to visit Robben Island - This option worked well for my family. Robben Island itself is a group tour that includes a bus ride and mini tour of the island and the history and then time within the prison with an ex-inmate or guard which details more of their time on Robben Island. This booking is getting your tickets and also transportation to/from the port. The driver was on time and escorted us to the ferry and was waiting for us when we got back.

This is one tour any visitor to South Africa should not forgo. Informative and enlightening are the operative words to describe - This was a very informative tour. Our guide was a former inmate from 1977 to 1981. He was asked countless, varied questions about the prison and his experiences therein. He spoke authoritatively about all subject matter. The whole tour was very enlightening.

Mandela's Legacy tour - We visited Robben Island. The experience was poignant, but experience was poignant, but holding hands made it bearable

Wisdom - The words of wisdom from Mandela is powerful. However, it is a bit of confined trip, but you will generally experience the old prison.

Do in your own - Robben Island is a 45 minutes ferry ride to and from the ticket office. Then there is a bus tour around the island for 45 minutes followed by an hour talk by a past prisoner. I wouldn't recommend using a pre-booking service as tickets appeared easy to get and there was no added value. If you're not near the V&A waterfront an Uber is cheap, so no need for a transfer.

Horrible WEBSITE. AI driven site - Computer logarithms choose our date and time. Original date requested was not what I requested; other family members were unable to used already purchased tickers. I lost $100. Contacted local reservation desk who agreed and was ready of refund; Afterall other passengers were waiting to use space. But was not able to because the 4 original tickets were purchase through were horrible web site. I contacted your site but was told I needed a Dr's note. You did not read my statement. I will NOT be or recommending your site. In fact, the other 260 members of my travel group were aware of the issue. Your company has just lost future revenue because of your bad decision not to refund my unsued tickets for $20. Good bye.
