Amazing and Unique experience - It was well worth the money—a really unique experience. The trip was exceptionally well organized, everything went smoothly, and the staff was top-notch. You get to see some amazing views of CT and its surroundings. Then, the Elgin market is a stunning spot—amazing decor, really great food and drink, and some shopping. I would recommend the bar carriage on the train for the best seating.

A great day out. Highly Recommend. - A fabulous day out that exceeded our expectations. We decided to spend a bit more and go for seats in the Observation Car which meant that we had great views out of the side windows and the panoramic window at the back of the carriage. It also meant that we were at the very back of the train on the way to Elgin and at the front on the way back with the bonus that as we went round bends in the track we had a great view of the whole train. Seating was very comfortable with both couches and chairs and we had a bar in our carriage serving cold drinks whilst the coffee bar was a few carriages along the train. You could either get your own drinks or order them from the hostess who also took food orders. The scenery as we left Cape Town was quite industrial as we went through the docks area but by the time we got to Sir Lowrys Pass it had changed dramatically and was absolutely stunning especially at the top of the pass looking down on False Bay. It took over three hours to get to Elgin Market but the time didn't drag at all and we enjoyed the whole journey. The Market was great in a fantastic industrial building full of character and interesting Architecture. There was a really good choice of food with a variety of stalls ranging from pizzas to poke bowls and everything in between! The live music was really good and added to the atmosphere. For those interested in Steam Trains there was plenty of opportunity to get up close to the engine and take lots of photos. I even got the opportunity to climb up on the footplate and pretend to be the driver!! The ride home was equally enjoyable and very different being at the front of the train. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, frequently checking that we were enjoying the experience and asking for feedback at the end of the trip. All in all a great day out for both steam train enthusiasts and non enthusiasts alike. Highly Recommend!

Wonderful - Fabulous views, great service on board train...the Market provided an excellent choice of different meals and all those tested were culinary delights. Wine also great. We especially have to commend the team for going above and beyond to locate a lost phone and reunite it with its owner. Truly appreciated. The entire family were thrilled with the experience......thank you!! Not that many adventures appeal to the age range from 8 months to 72 years...this one certainly did. 😀

Wonderful and exciting experience. - It was a wonderful experience. It is surely something I would recommend others to do atleast once. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the market was fun and entertaining. It is a whole day trip, which can get long for smaller children, but other than that is was a wonderful and exciting experience!
