Midway, stop at ‘breakfast rock,’ a fantastic photo spot with views of Lions Head and the Atlantic Ocean. Upon reaching the top of Kasteelpoort, take a moment to explore the remnants of the historic Old Cableway. Adventurous visitors can venture onto ‘diving board rock’ for an incredible photo to share with friends back home. From the Old Cableway, the trail ascends part of the Valley of the Red Gods and into the Valley of Isolation, known for its intriguing rock formations that create a bowl-like valley.
The route then descends into Echo Valley and climbs the backside of Table Mountain via three ladders (securely bolted into the rock). The views overlooking the city below are breathtaking and should not be missed. Once at the summit, the descent is via the Cableway, weather permitting.
