A Journey Through the Garden Route

The moment I set foot in Cape Town, I knew this was going to be an adventure unlike any other. The 5-Day Garden Route & Addo Adventure promised a whirlwind of experiences, and it delivered beyond my wildest expectations. Our journey began with a comfortable ride in a modern minibus, where I met my fellow travelers, a group of eight eager adventurers. Our guide, Christine, was a beacon of enthusiasm and knowledge, setting the tone for the days to come.

Our first stop was the Stony Point Penguin Colony, where we were greeted by the sight of endangered African penguins waddling along the shore. It was a photographer’s dream, and I couldn’t resist capturing their charming antics. As we continued our journey, we reached the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. Our evenings were spent in charming B&Bs, where the warmth of our hosts and the delicious local cuisine made us feel right at home. I must mention the ostrich steak, a dish I had never tried before, but one that left a lasting impression. The Majesty of Addo Elephant National Park

As a wildlife photographer, the highlight of the tour was undoubtedly our visit to Addo Elephant National Park. The park’s vast expanse is home to a diverse array of wildlife, and we were fortunate to witness elephants, lions, and rhinos in their natural habitat.
