- Yr Wyddfa - The mountains of Snowdonia have some of the UK’s best and most iconic mountain scrambles. With towering ridges, airy traverses, atmospheric gullies, and breathtaking summit views; you can’t beat a good day out scrambling in North Wales. With so many classic routes to choose from, we’ll be able to tailor the perfect scramble to suit your group; The north ridge of Tryfan, Bristly ridge, Crib Lem, Y Gribbin & Crib Goch being good examples.
Scrambleing is the activity of moving over rocky terrain in the mountains. Between hill walking and rock climbing, you have Scrambling. Easy Scrambles don’t normally require a rope, but you will need to use your hands on the rock at times, and it will have exposed sections. For harder Scrambles, we can use a rope, harness, and helmets to keep you protected.
Expect a challenging Exciting mountain Journey, fully guided by a mountaineering instructor, and a great intro to the world of mountain scrambles.
We’ll choose the best, most iconic scramble, based on your ability and previous experience and the weather for the day.

Emerged from the Ocean and sculpted by the Ice Age, Snowdonia’s mountains pose as the ideal space for Scrambling, hosting some of the top scrambles in the UK. Spectacular towering ridge lines, rocky buttresses, and thrilling gullies, all reachable within a day. We’ll choose the ideal track to escort you up, or maybe there’s a longstanding aspiration you need assistance with. Or perhaps, you aspire to acquire the necessary skills to scramble on your own.

Great experience! - Highly recommend. I had no climbing experience whatsoever, so it’s safe to say I was a little apprehensive about booking something like this on my own - But James is professional, and I felt totally safe being in his group. He took time to ask questions to find out my fitness level, confidence level and goals I have - before starting. I was up for a challenge and I certainly felt like I’d achieved a lot at the end of the day! I feel that James will always try his best to tailor the days around the groups experience to suit everyone & make it amazing! Loved the views from the mountain too.
I look forward to trying climbing again!

Snowdonia scrambling May 24 - My husband and I had a brilliant two-day scrambling trip with James. We contacted him several months before to secure the dates and he was really helpful and responsive throughout the booking process.
On the first day, he took the time to ask about our previous experience and goals and tailored the days to this. The weather forecast for the 2nd day wasn’t great but yet he managed to find the best weather and definitely made the most of our time in Snowdonia.
He is incredibly knowledgable, encouraging and patient and we learnt so much over our two days. We are already planning our next trip! If you’re considering booking, don’t hesitate ☺️

Fantastic climbing and scrambling - James is a fantastic instructor, guide and all-round good guy with whom to spend a couple of intense and amazing days. He made us feel much more adventurous and capable than we thought we were. We had two days with James, his excellent local knowledge and flexibility meant we were able to make the most of the weather with an atmospheric scramble up Y Garn, then a dazzling sunny day at the coast where we did our first multi-pitch sea cliff climbs at South Stack on Anglesey. I wish I knew more people who climbed so I could recommend him to everyone.

Fantastic experience - I booked two sessions with James and had two wonderful days out scrambling with him. He took the time to get to know me initially and to assess my experience, ability, limitations and what I wanted to achieve. We both agreed on a preferred route (Crib Lem on Carnedd Dafydd) which proved to be stunning scenery, testing and fun in equal measures. James was clearly extremely knowledgeable and highly professional but also very good company. We had a great day out and a lot of fun but I also exceeded my expectations in terms of what I could do scrambling. Two days later, James guided my partner and myself along Bristly Ridge (we’re both in our 60s), this time using ropes which was a first for both of us. We had an absolutely brilliant session and were totally buzzing after the experience. I would certainly recommend James and I have already booked another two day rock climbing session with him.

Always in good hands and amazing experience guaranteed! - Booked a scrambling session with my partner: James and his team were super accommodating to our requests and change of plans due to bad weather. Simon was our guide for the day and I'm super grateful that they convinced us to do half a day of scrambling and another half day of gorge scrambling due to the rains and heavy winds.
They even offered to lend us rain jackets, rain pants and wetsuits because we weren't prepared with the correct gear. The whole time I felt safe and in good hands as Simon was always very encouraging and put safety as his top priority. The views were amazing, loads of fun banter and all in all, priceless experience! I recommend them 1000% and will be contacting them for future climbs!

The best snowdonia scramble - An absolute stellar day up in the mountains! My brother and I had one of the most incredible days being led up an intense but exhilarating rock face scramble. We were out in the mountains for for a good 7 hours, hiking, climbing and scrambling. James, our guide was amazing, taking us off the standard routes and throwing us deep into the advanced climbers experience. I can’t recommend an adventure like this enough! No better way to experience Snowdonia and we will 100% be coming back for more adventure like this. Thank you James!!

Unforgettable scrambling experience up Snowdon - What an incredible experience this was! We booked it very last minute and I wasn't sure it would be possible to find available guides in time, but James was so accomadating and made all the arrangements so easy! All we had to do was turn up on the day, and enjoy ourselves, in the knowledge that we were in very safe hands. Our guides for the day were Andy and Luca, who from the start, made us feel very welcome and at ease. Communication was great, they asked our main goals and objectives for the day and delivered them in bucket loads. We asked for a challenge and we got it! Not once In the day did we feel rushed or under pressure, and Luca with his amazing photography captured some memories for us that we will never forget. We are already planning our next scramble experience with gibbon adventures, and would love to be accompanied by Andy and Luca again. Thank you so much to the whole team involved!
