Great Experience - Excellent tour of the Andes foothills. The horses were healthy, strong, and competent. Our driver and guide was great, as were the other guides who rode with us. The trek is an about 1.5 h each way, and is a beautiful trip up the river bed, then up to the top of a hill overlooking the farm. If you’re comfortable around horses it’s no sweat, but there are some interesting climbs/descents near the vista where we stop that could unnerve the squeamish. Adds to the adventure. Definitely recommend.

Incredible Experience- A Must! - An incredible experience that will be remembered forever. A ranch in the middle of the mountains with well trained and beautiful horses. The guides were friendly and attentive, and it was pleasant ride up the mountain with a few challenging climbs and descends where the horses experience shined. The view at the top was like nothing I’ve ever experienced— magical! The best part for me what the pack of ranch dogs that accompanied us throughout the experience. After the ride, the meal and wine served was delicious — especially the homemade alfajores. A truly fantastic experience!

Great once in a lifetime experience. - If you have ever dreamed of riding in the foothills of the Andreas this is dream come true. You get a couple hour ride up through a rocky gully to a saddle between two mountains where you can look out in both directions. Great if you can take the heights. You share a bbq afterwords visiting with your fellow riders as the night sets in. Just a really great experience. Mid size sure footed well trained mountain horses as you would expect. Fun for all levels of rider. Very nice professional hosts. Thank you for a great experience.

Wonderful experience - We had a wonderful experience riding through the foothills of the Andes. The scenery was amazing and the riding very easy on docile horses. As an experienced rider I did find it more like being a passenger, but think that’s probably to be expected as the trek has to be suitable for all levels. The information provided by Stella before the trek was very friendly, informative and helpful but it was a shame she wasn’t at the ranch as only one person (who wasn’t a guide) spoke English, and his was very limited which meant there wasn’t any opportunities to ask questions, either on the ride or afterwards The BBQ at the end of the ride was really delicious and plentiful ! My main negative comment was the vehicle that took us to the ranch was beyond antiquated and extremely uncomfortable. Given that 40 minutes of the journey was over a very very rough and bumpy track, it presented for an unpleasant time, there and back.

simple ride in the foothills outside Mendoza - It's a one car ride each way to the.ranch, which is in the middle if no where. You don't need any experience if horse riding as its just walking one behind the other and rhe horses know the way. You ride 1.5 hours each way to a mountain top for good views. Path is rocky and steep and narrow in places. After the ride you have an asado supper in the barn. Food was plentiful and quite good. Wine is included. The guides did not speak any English and were quite surly. Overall l, I think the staff could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly. We got picked up at 3.30 and did not get back until almost 10.30.

Unacceptable Risk/Not Enough Seat Belts - I waited a week to write this review because I was so angry on the day of the tour I needed to cool off. I’ll start with the good. They were very prompt with communication, seemed organized, on time for pick up, and overall nice/kind. The food was was good. Now the bad. I booked our reservation as a group of 4 adults. The car that was sent to pick us up in Mendoza City only had 4 seatbelts, including the 1 being the driver. The car was not made with 3 seatbelts in the back seat (it wasn’t shoved inside the seat, it just didn’t exist). The driver just shrugged and just said it was an old car. Absolutely unacceptable. This forced one of us to take the 1 hour 15 min car ride each way without a seat belt. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE for a tour agency catering to international tourists. I realize riding a horse in South America has some inherent risk, I accept that risk, this isn't about that. However, I do not accept the risk of riding in a car for 2.5 hours without a seatbelt. Collisions can happen to any driver and being on vacation does not exempt you from an accident—unfortunately I have first hand experience with this. We had dozens of cars and tours in South America and never had this issue. When I texted Stella she said we’d change vehicles on the way back…however, they had no plan to do this, except maybe switch cars with the other 4 people on the tour…leaving them in the same dangerous situation. So we had to take the same car back to Mendoza City. Bottom line, they do not have the capacity to safely transport 4 tourists in 1 car. Our driver was very nice, but acted like he didn’t speak English during the whole drive to the ranch. So we found it shocking when he was the only English speaking person when we arrived at the ranch. His English was actually pretty good, but he doesn’t go on the 3 hour ride with us, he cooked the food. He was very nice and did his best to explain how to ride a horse. However, once we left the ranch, neither gaucho spoke a single word on English the entire ride. There were 8 English speaking riders from 4 countries and the tour was advertised to be in English, so that seems odd. Nobody explained anything about the scenery, history, or anything. It was extremely hot that day, 36C/97F, with no chances to drink water for 90 minutes. When my friend was having trouble staying on her horse, the gaucho kept hitting it to go faster, despite her screaming to stop. He offered no advice or tips to stay on the horse, because he had no way to communicate. They use a different saddle without a horn to hold, so our hands were almost bloody handing on to the underside of the saddle. If you go, maybe bring work gloves. The views from the top were nice, but the gaucho guides moved far away and sat for 20ish minutes. The food back at the ranch was pretty good, nothing life changing. Conversation was nice. This was the best part of the tour, but we can get a cool meal lots of places. Overall, I would not recommend this experience to most people. Basic safety concerns were completely ignored and the entire horse ride part was just okay.

Be aware - I didn’t attend this trip due to falling sick. You should know that the tour operator refused to issue a refund. I understand it’s their choice but if you fall ill, and you aren’t able to go, they won’t give you a refund.
