Istanbul to Cappadocia, Half a day Kaymakli Underground city tour
Cappadocia - We will come to your accommodation in Istanbul to pick you up and take you to the airport for your morning flight to Cappadocia. Once you arrive at the Cappadocia airport, your driver will be there to meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Cappadocia.
Kaymakli Underground City - In the afternoon, you will embark on a private tour of the region, starting with a visit to the remarkable underground city of Kaymakli. Cappadocia boasts 36 such cities, and Kaymakli is one of the largest and oldest. It is believed that it could have housed up to 3500 people.
On the first floor, you will find a stable, a church, and living quarters. The second floor contains another church with a nave and two apses. A baptismal font is located in front of the apse, while the walls have seating platforms. This level also has some living spaces.
The third floor is the most essential area of the underground compound, with storage facilities, wine or oil presses, and kitchens.
Cavusin - After visiting the Kaymakli Underground City, you will stop for a photo opportunity at Pigeon Valley. Your final stop will be at Cavusin, a beautiful Christian village that is one of the oldest in the region.
